I'd still go with Nick 1st, then Finley, then Baxter, then, if all fails, Spree.

    Seriously.

Nick is a REAL PG, who can also create and shoot the long ball. Nick, T-Mac, and Luther would be the ideal combination, IMO. Name one REAL pg on our team. We don't have one, except for Ward and he doesn't really play.I sound like Charles Barkley, huh.

Finley still offers alot of the intangibles, but was really a non-factor in our series against the Mavs.

I like the depth Lonnie Baxter would bring to our front court. Now that we waived Spoon, we're left a little thin at the 4 spot. If Swift goes down and Howard can't ever fully recover, it's another lost season.

Spree brings that hustle and fire, but now that fire seems a little misguided and could be a distraction to our chemistry. The last thing this team should be is a retirement tour for ex-Knicks.

    Seriously.

what are you talking about Finley stole that series from us? remember he doesnt get called for out of bounds.. we could use that kind of clout on our team.

    No thanks.

I'll take Finley or Dion Glover over Spree anytime.

I am a bit leery of spreewell. I'd rather have Finley...what better way to serve up revenge on the team that dumped him... if only Finley were as vengeful as I am... well, spreewell...I dunno very neutral on him..if he's cheap and short term...maybe

By the way counting crow, when is counting crows coming out with a new album...their due...

You would take a summer league player who's never stuck in the league over a former all star? The guy can still play. He killed in the playoffs two years ago

All his agent said is that he's glad there's interest from the former coaches.. and that the full MLE is lower than his value. But he'd be *willing* to accept it.

You're reading TOO much btwn the lines..

I've always been against signing Sprewell, but I've assumed it would cost us more than the LLE. Also, I thought it would mean we weren't going to sign somebody young. When we signed Stromile Swift, we surpassed my hopes for a young player that can grow with T-Mac and Yao. So, I'd be more than happy to see them sign Sprewell to slap a bandaid on our 2 spot for a season. Hopefully next season we can use our MLE to get a long term solution to the pg or sg.

Like many of you, I'd prefer Finley, but I don't see that as likely with San Antonio having more to offer (and Miami and Detroit having more to offer still). The only way Finley would sign with SA or Houston is if he's interested in staying in Texas, and if that's the case, I imagine he'll still go where there is more money + it doesn't hurt that San Antonio are the reigning NBA champs.

I've never been a big Spre fan. However, if this was say the Spre of three years ago, I'd consider him strongly. At 36 I say pass.

My thought exactly. If he wouldnt sign with minnesota last year, when everybody thought they'd be a contending team, why would he sign with a contending team for FAR less money.

    Yuck.

It's not that I think he can't contribute in the league anymore, but I don't think the Rockets are a good situation at all for him. He's no upgrade over Wesley whatsoever...he runs the floor a little better but Wesley's shot cancels that out.

The only way I see us getting him is in a sign and trade too...and I would vomit if we wasted Wesley's expriring contract value on him, or traded one of our PG's for him...especially for a deal longer than a year or two.

There is not a SG available right now that is worth spending money on via a sign and trade (not even Finley), much less trading away the little value that we have. We're going to have to wait until the deadline or next summer.
