Say what you'd like about Dish, but I was extremely disappointed in their tactics over the past year. My parents, who had been with Dish since 98, wanted to upgrade their new Dish to the one being offered for free on TV. Dish flat out refused, and also wouldn't switch out their box without a fee. Only when my folks switched to Direct did a Dish rep call and say they could have everything they asked for in the first place. My Dad's response? Should've listened to me earlier. Like the old cell phone contracts, it is looking like you have to flip flop between the two companies to get good deals. And that is r****ded business practice.
