I knew a guy who did it as an adult. He was 19 when he got circumcized. It does hurt as an adult. I think mainly because you're capable of getting an erection which stretches out the skin on the healing area. You have to think ugly thought to not get a hard on while in recovery. That's why it's better to get it done as a newborn.

just about a month ago a barber who works in the barbershop I go to was talking about having it done. my barber had it done at about the age of 13. he was saying its a lot more painful getting it done as an adult. apparently its a hygine issue also.
