Fair? That's rediculous. Since we are assuming that it is a White Sox player (this is hypethetical at this point), him cheating is unfair to begin with.

To be honest, this isn't even debatable. You cheat in ANY sport, you get your victory stripped away. Period. That's why it's called cheating.

I'm not saying give the title to the Astros. That's not exactly fair either. But someone has to have it, and the 'Stros were right there. Maybe the record-keepers go back and strip the cheater's contributions out, and tally up the games that way, and see who wins on paper. But then again, the White Sox cheated to beat the Red Sox and the Angels, too...

I think it could be Shef, Manny is big, but he looks more out of shape. What about a certain NL first baseman who made the playoffs and has a red bird on his cap?

The difference between getting a clutch hit and not getting a clutch hit for a player could be steroids. So, if it turns out that a White Sox player was involved with steroids and got timely hits that led directly or indirectly to runs that cost us some of those games, then their Series win would be tainted and rightly so. However, there is no basis for stripping them of the title considering it is not an individual but a team sport.

We will just have to see who it is I guess.

Looking at the boxscores and taking out his contributions (giving him outs at every at bat) It works hypothetically like this.

The Sox still win game one by 1 run instead of 2.

The Astros win game 2 by 2 runs (no grand slam by Konerko. At best it is a solo shot, with Dye making the last out of the 8th).

the Astros win game three in 9 innings by 2 runs (Sox only score 3 in the 5th)

Game 4 would still be tied 0-0.

If it does turn out to be DYe I will be pretty ticked off.

Steroids have been use for a long, long time. The entire Baseball World Series is probably tainted for at least 10 years, probably more.

Yea but this will have occurred after steroid testing was put in place. There is a pre- and post-steroid era. Sure, when Caminiti was using steroids, for example, then it doesn't matter as much because there was no testing in place...even though I'm sure there are plenty of people who think he didn't deserve the MVP for that season at San Diego. However, now, I do consider it a big deal because the whole steroid scandal has already taken place with the congressional hearings, steroid testing put in place, and so forth. So, if it did happen now regardless of the team, to see it the same way as one saw it 10 years ago shouldn't even be the same. There is a difference between then and now.

The difference is that this guy got caught (allegedly).....so the 'everybody does it defense' doesn't hold.

It's like if you get caught driving under the influence. Doesn't much matter that all your buddies do it....you still get nailed.

And if you happen to be driving the Chicago White Sox team bus....the whole team might miss the parade....and is that such a bad thing???

You're undoubtedly right, but so far none of the Astros players have tested positive.

I will say at Game 3, when Dye walked up to the plate, holy moly is that dude large.

He wasn't always that way either, when he played for the A's he was a string-bean.

Wasn't it established that Sheff was using that cream Bond's also used? Manny would be last on the list. He is bordering on possibly requiring the use of the bro in a few years.

I don't think that you can do that. ASSuming that it is Dye - his 1st homerun off of Roger set the tone for the entire series. To take away one run is too simplistic in approach, in my mind. I don't mean to offend you. I'm not sure how you would manage something like that. I think we should ALL throw a chair.

YOU'RE RIGHTTT!!!!!! What did Clemens mother do? DIE! Which player is a homonym? DYE!

OMFG!!!!!!!!!! NOSTRADAMUS LIVES!!!!1111111~~~~~~~

Yeah anyway...I'm just going to go out on a limb and say it was Rowand. I mean, he just looks like a prick so he must have used steroids (although if this report is true and if it does happen to be a White Sox player, I'd much prefer it to be a guy like Pierzynski, that cocky b*stard or Crede, that dumbass idiot who dares to yell at Oswalt).
