give me mike bibby over francis anyday! enough said. a defensive, good jumpshooting, good passing point guard is what the rockets need. and thats bibby. francis and mcgrady wont mesh since both of them needs the ball to be effective and mcgrady has been doing that job pretty well so we dont need another one. plus, mcgrady is a better low-post passer than francis so, like i said, pass on francis, go on mike bibby!

[x] It will create problems for us offensively
Mobley, Ewing, and Rebraca could certainly provide as much or more production than Wesley and Howard or Swift, the other 2 may or may not ever produce for us again
[x] It will make our defense weaker
Mobley is a superior defender to Wesley, none of the others in the trade are much of a factor defensively
[x] Team chemistry will be fractured as a result
this is true of any trade, and no more so in this trade than any other
[x] The other team(s) would never agree to it
I'd say everyone comes out about even, especially if you include a pick for Orlando. They are going to traqde Fancy, and probably won't be able to get more than this for him.
[x] It would be unpopular with the fans
    Which fans?
[x] Requires us to give up too much
Wesley, Howard, and 2 members of the chronic injury ward is not too much for a young point guard and a borderline all-star shooting guard
[x] This does not help us in the long run
We get younger and more athletic, with a decent PG for the future in Ewing. Mobes also has signifcant time remaining, as evidenced by his brand new long term contract
[x] Our team's identity and game strategy
We need defenders and outside shooters, Cat is both.
    [x] Lack of rebounding
No one involved in the trade is a particularly good rebounder, but it would actually result in more time for one of our better rebounders with one of our PFs moving out to give more time to Deke or Baxter.
    [x] Lack of offensive production
We are getting a better offensive player than anyone we are losing and we are getting another true point to backup Rafer. Our offense should not suffer, and it should actually facilitate giving fewer minutes to RyBo, with another quality swingman coming in, thus inherently improving the offense.
[x] Lack of a dependable 3rd scoring option
TMac, Yao, Mobley. Unless my counting skills have seriously deteriorated, that is 3.
[x] Lack of inside/low post presence
I don't know if you are not counting Yao because he is injured, or you don't know what a low post presence is. Also, both TMac and Mobley have played well in the post THIS SEASON.
[x] Inconsistency in the production of player(s) involved
We are shipping out inconsistent players, and getting back people no less consistent.
    [x] Poor leadership qualities
The players involved in the trade are not team leaders for any of the teams they are heading to
    [x] Lack of league/playoff experience
We would be getting a player with championship experience, and another with 2 years in the playoffs.
[x] Poor matchups with potential playoff opponents
We only get weaker at 1 position, and neither of the PFs that could be involved in the deal are going to slow down any of the PFs they could be facing. On the other hand, Yao has played well against both Amare and Duncan and McGrady has shown an ability to defend Nowitzki as well as anyone in the NBA. Additionally, Mobley will not be exposed like Wesley was against Stackhouse and Terry.
[x] You can't win a championship without dependable offensive options
    Already addressed above
[x] You can't build a successful team without strong chemistry
    Already addressed above
[x] We only have a limited amount of time to build around our superstars
    Already addressed above
[x] It's a dumb idea to attempt to rebuild a team in the middle of the season
Half the players being traded will not play this season, on the other hand, we are 10 games under .500 and need to make changes to salvage the season and build for the future.
[x] Doing it this way doesn't make us strong enough
Wesley, Sura, Anderson, and Howard or Swift can only provide us with so much, either in production or in trade. This trade will not make us weaker, and there is not much else these players can do to make us stronger. You can't get something for nothing.
[x] This is a stupid idea, and you're a stupid person for suggesting it.
I don't think you are the be all and end all in trade evaluation. While your form is a cute idea, it has been less funny each time I have seen it. In addition, I don't think you are in any position to be calling someone stupid based on my analysis of your points above. Happy posting.

THe key when FRancis was here was he had Mobley to back him up on the perimiter and he had Yao in the post. Teams couldn't gaurd all 3 guys at one time so they had to pick thier poison. Notice how FRancis has fallen off without Mobley and YAo beside him. Its the same thing with Tmac here he has no one who can create a shot on thier own without him passing the ball to them. WEsley,Head,Alston all play hard but they can't win games for the Rockets on thier own. THats why this team needs Tmac and Yao on the court at the same time to win games. THat coupled with shooters on the perimiter that can hit the open 3 ball. We might not make a trade this season because of all the injuries but I can assure you that this offseason CD and Van Gundy along with Les Alexander won't make the same mistakes twice by going out and getting an injury prone player ala DErek Anderson and won't pay big bucks to a unproven PF ala SWift. THis season has been a series of bad luck and the fact that STern still has a bone to pick with the Roickets. All those things combined equal most likley right now no playoffs. However a better offseason this coming offseason and better health from Tmac and Yao and we will be right at the top with the Spurs and Pistons in the nba. Go Rockets!!!

Can't anyone remember why we moved Francis. How easily we forget!
Francis was full of dribblemania [ just like Moochie] and was not very proficient at passing the Ball to Yao Ming, also his ability to be the playmaker Point Guard
    was lacking. ;)

No, I just figured a witty comeback like that was much more efficient than spending 30 minutes of my time dismantling a rebuttal that obviously took you quite a while to put together. :)
