Nexus player is 39.99 on groupon right now. Basically the cost of the new Chromecast but has more features. I have kodi installed on it right now plus you retain your Chromecast ability. My favorite feature is the Bluetooth headphones support.

Otherwise you could just mirror your device to the Chromecast depending on your phone.

Nexus 7 2013? From the quick settings menu you should see a cast icon. Hit that and choose your Chromecast. It will mirror your nexus 7.

look into getting the Nexus Player and putting Kodi on it, are you able to use your smartphone/tablet as keyboard? that's one of the features I like using my Fire TV Stick with Kodi. Also is it possible to use the OTG cable and plug in a USB wireless keyboard/mouse?

    Thanks in advance

    Fire Stick yea

you can run Kodi on your Android phone/tablet and cast it on Chromecast, but Firestick is easier

    Good start is right here

There are ways to do it with installing Video players from Play Store that support Chromecast feature and using it as your default for playing videos on Kodi

not the easiest way but is doable

It's really cool, have watched Ash vs Evil Dead in HD on it the last couple weeks, not having Starz and all..

It's kind of amazing and disturbing that this is 'legal'.. I keep expecting the stormtroopers to knock the door down at any moment.

feel free to ask me about it sir, I'd install "Addon Installer" as the first program to install on Kodi and go from there

Genesis/1Channel/Phoenix are must download channels and go from there

How's your experience with it on the Fire Stick? Mine isn't so great, mostly because the load times take 10 seconds for the command to "Work" and the mirrors are never guaranteed to work, either due to a broken link or slow buffer times. I use it as a last resort, but I'd much rather download a file off a private site, load it onto a USB and plug that in than deal with the slow and unreliable load times for Kodi.

Also, typing with the remote is awful. How do you connect your phone to use the touch keyboard?
