I'm hoping for something like this to make the season some what exciting. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uO7gn1Ehl8M&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uO7gn1Ehl8M&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
That probably will happen. And in LA it works to perfection, hell Phil Jackson will surely spin it the right way on the court. The Lakers biggest problem (aside from PG) was their inconsistency and tendency to have letdowns (see Rockets/Lakers 09). Ron never lets up. So when the Lakers go lackadaisical Ron will have free reign to start taking over, this will snap everyone back into reality and they will recover quicker from the lulls. And you have the possibility that Ron actually goes off. Either way its a win-win as opposed to their situation last year. Kobe needs someone on his own team to challenge him. As a competitor it will only make him better.
Man I still believe in Tmac <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ceLlz7dOOvY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ceLlz7dOOvY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/V7SO2KMIhTw&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/V7SO2KMIhTw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> BTW the Mavs game was so Fixed, wth was with all the calls??
I don't see it working. Kobe can control most of his teammates. Thats why you always seem him b****ing at them and they just take it. I don't see Kobe controling Ron. There will be conflict. Ron will take away shots from Kobe, and thats bad for the Lakers, but good for everyone else. As for T-Mac, why not believe in him? If there is one season where we can give him one more chance, its this season. What do we have to lose? Either we get one of our best players back, or we move on with trades and rebuilding.
Apparently, I am the resident Ariza hater and even I disagree with you. Ron is a bad fit in LA. He's a bad fit anywhere but he is an especially bad fit on a team that just won a Championship and has arguably the biggest d#ck in the league was it's star player. And Kobe can't guard quicker players anymore. That's where Ariza was so valuable to the Lakers. That and the fact that he didn't take bad shots. He shot what the offense gave him.
That is fine.. Kobe can't guard quicker players anymore EFFECTIVELY.. so what? How many teams with "quick" players are going to emerge as contenders next year..? Contenders are.. 1) Cavs .. Lebron-- > Artest 2) Magic.. Vince ---> Kobe can definitely defend him 3) Spurs.. Ginobli -- > thats a problem 4) Boston.. Ray Allen --> Not a difficult match up for kobe .. 5) Nuggets .. Anthony--> Artest i hope i have not left out anyone.. so the deal actually makes sense.. Ariza was a great asset.. but Ron is def not a bad fit as a PLAYER.. the move makes sense considering the fact that Ron was cheaper.. the nut case part is a totally different thing.. and I agree with you there.. he is a dynamite waiting to explode.. and add Kobe to that = big problems.. on court i dont see Artest as an issue.. if he stays within the scheme of things (which i guess he will. consider the fact that he is playing with very very talented players such as Odom, Gasol and Kobe ... not Brooks Shane and Scola) ..
Either way I think the Lakers are going to be very, very entertaining this year. And I mean mostly off the court. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens with the Ron Artest experiment in LA.
Ron is probably the best defender for Lebron in the entire league... Even with a loss of lateral quickness, he is a perfect guy to have on Lebron...He shut him down last year...
Portland is not a contender. no way. They might be really good against the lakers.. but in a 7 game series.. they are not going to win.
i think it's the rockets defense. he has struggled v. houston since he entered the L. houston is one of the few teams he struggles against.
