I think he can come back and be a solid 20 plus 5-5 solid NBA player. He has enough NBA experience and talent to probably be an All-star. AND as many have pointed out, its a contract year. He may even surprise us by leading the team to 46-50 wins and a 6-8 seed. I'd personally welcome him back next year to make one more run with Yao. Our record speaks for itself when both are on the floor. But only if he is willing to sign for an Artestesque contract like he did with the Lakers, which is probably unlikely. Some team will probably pay him 10 mil plus next year. But my bet is he is NOT traded this season.

i absolutely support tracy macgrady on this rockets team. i think he and yao being injured at the same time may come as a blessing come contract negotiation time. this team is being left a window that playoff contenders rarely have. a window to have their two major two stars off the books so the team can make a collective decision. tracy and yao both having this much time off will end up being a great thing. i see tracy coming back and remaining a top 10 scorer in the league. i believe yao will come back renewed. and maintain his current pace for at least another 2-3 years. this team can still win the whole damn thing. and with morey at the wheel? morey's got to see he can slowly retool each time so his teams are complete. he has made awesome decisions so far and i believe in him too. i fully believe tracy and yao will do the right thing and not hold this franchise hostage. i believe that these two guys have alot to prove and want to do it together. and find a way for this team to stay intact for a reloaded version of this houston rockets team. and i still think they can win the whole damn thing.
Definitely, He will end up with a contract at around 7 million maximum. His game this season, even if He produces would matter only for him to get that amount or less. If for some reason, He fails to produce and plays like last season then He would be lucky to even get a contract for the MLE. Worse, We might even see him in Europe next year.

What a bonus that would be. If He could give the team that needed boost in rebounding and some production on offense then this team could shoot for a higher seed in the playoffs and not just making it. He is not the savior but his production, assuming he turns out to be decent, will give the team another option that other teams have to defend.
