Bad development for our young players. Okc has their all their picks booming.

There are just too many mistakes being made at this point to keep the confidence where it once was. The Levert and Allen deals were both bad. This is not a hindsight is 20-20 thing. We knew that at the time. Many, myself included, were saying we made stupid decisions on them both. The Dipo trade was abysmal and embarrassing. Theis was a bad fit with this roster and that's not rocket science. We weren't able to trade Danuel House for anything, couldn't move Christian Wood or John Wall, chose not to move Eric Gordon absurdly, and re-signed David Nwaba in the offseason for some odd reason (who I otherwise like, but really? How does he fit this team?). Again, just too many bad moves.

The best thing this FO has done has been in identifying talent. KJ Martin, Jae'sean Tate, Daishen Nix, Alpi, etc. are looking like good moves. The jury is out on Garuba. Green is TBD, though he has recently been improving. Right now Mobley looks like the far superior player and the player who should have been the #1 pick, and Green has a lot of development that he needs to do in his game.

Like Morey, I’m sure it will take a couple of seasons for Stone to get good at winning trades. Not easy to go up against GM’s with decades of experience in NBA front offices. I don’t think he actually meant there’s nothing for him to learn when he was quoted a while ago.

I think he had an incredible draft and is good at finding projects. I’m obviously very optimistic about this draft we just had, I believe we had a special draft that has jumpstarted us towards becoming a dynasty if they don’t f*ck it up. If 3 of these 4 guys are worth extensions north of $15m per season we are sitting on an incredible wealth of team controlled assets at that point. I think two of our guys will be worth more than $20m per season when extension time comes.

Yet to be seen how he does with big FA’s. That’s an important part of being a GM.

If you want to win as many games as possible, obviously you won’t agree with his trades.

I don’t like that he didn’t dump one of Gordon or Wood, even if the goal is to lose more. The rookies would win less and develop more. The pick could help us move up or we could trade it for a later pick from someone. I think this has been his only mistake if I judge him by his own strategy. May have gotten too stubborn at the deadline to accept just a mediocre first.

Overall I think it’s incomplete score until I see one more summer of youth development, draft and trade market from him. That would give me a better idea of how he’s doing, I’m not going to judge him by the first 40 games of one of the youngest players in the draft. Too many people look like fools doing this every few years.

I think it will be close to impossible to win less than 30 games next season with this young core plus Tate and a top 5 pick. Which is good because I thing we don’t own our pick in summer 2023, right?
