Cool vid OP. These vid threads make me amped for the new season over and over. There will always be two schools of thought... one is that you can only appreciate a team that wins championships, the other is that there are other reasons to appreciate a team's effort as well.
This is the most awful vid that I've ever seen in a while, thanks for the vid OP. It's really hard to believe that right now, no team in the league would like to offer him a contract or a spot on the roster.
no one is commenting on the scola sequence starting at 5:11? for me personally, that 10 seconds alone sums up what rox is for me...
You could see from a mile away, that this was going to turn into Mac Hatefest 2010. That run was a great memory, so much fun, and Tracy had a lot to do with it. Like always, so much of Tracy and Yao depended on each other.....injuries at the worst times for one of them, while the other tried to carry the team.
THIS!! This thread is a living testimate that not everyone hates Mcgrady. Please look at the whole person, not just what you see on the court. And it is true that Mcgrady did pretty much carry the Rockets when Yao went down. Its just sad that Yao went down.. I think we could have made a legitamate push for the title. Injuries are such a biotch..
no it was a team effort, go back and look at all the box scores. I remember the streak as being the breakout for Scola, Landry, and a vastly improved Rafer Alston. Also, someone who never gets credit is the coach, Rick the Ruler.
McGrady isn't a bad person, he is just a dumb person, and a lazy person. He needed to learn when to shut up and give the PC answer. It's one thing when you are putting up 25-8-6 and say what is on your mind and not try at practice because, hey, you're putting up 25-8-6. The second he couldn't stay on the court, he needed to shut up. Him sitting out at practice wasn't cute anymore. Other teams got to see how he has acted while leaving his last two teams. Oh, and he also blocked a trade with microfracture surgery, LOL. He's now playing for the minimum. I was a huge McGrady fan. Now it's just sad. And hilarious.
all moralizing aside... Tmac is the most naturally gifted basketball player of this decade Lebron is an all around athlete but the combination of size, length, touch, explosiveness and vision makes Tmac a once in a generation player too bad he didn't do much with it aside from personal accolades in his early years
I'll agree that it was a team effort, but during the streak it was pretty well recognized that Mcgrady was the leader. Would the streak have gone to 22 games without Mgrady? I highly doubt that.
That 22-win streak was LEGEN....wait for it....DARY!! One of the most memorable seasons in Rockets History! You can just tell that T-Mac's body just isnt capable of being "THAT PLAYER" anymore. He played that season banged up with a bad shoulder and a bad knee, but still showed a lot of quickness and leaping abilities. You can tell his elevation and quickness quickly diminished after the Utah Jazz series. It was exciting watching him "impose his will"..unfortunately, he didnt have enough pieces around him to assist him in imposing his will during the playoffs.
those same 'pieces' imposed their will on Portland and the Lakers to game 7. he did impose his will, he wanted a trade, he got it.
Think if he didn't get surgery to block the Vince Carter trade. He would have spent a healthy season in New Jersey. Maybe get re-upped. Would at least be doing better than a one-year minimum contract.
is it a fact. Rick Adelman is still on the Rockets and he's calling the shots. all the tquackers were flapping over Rick's decision to give him only 7 minutes, but Rick was right. Look what happened when D'Antoni gave Tmac all the minutes he wanted. Knowing that Rick Adelman is the coach of the Rockets and that he runs the joint is a good thing for Rocket fans. No player is above him, not even the highest paid player.
