    Without question.

I sit in first class on probably 3/4 of the flights I take, and people already figure I'm a flight marshall since I kinda look the part. Not that I am or anything, but I'd certainly throw down without hesitation. After what we know now, I think the majority of us would. That's probably the single biggest security measure that nobody talks about nowadays. The fact that if a group of Muslims tried to pull their crap on a flight, every male on the flight would be on them. Forget the crappy metal detectors, the onboard dogpile is our most effective measure.

I hate flying because I know there's zero perentage of surviving if something goes wrong. It's just amazes me how somehting so big and fragile looking fighting the sky against Mother Nature.

I love it as a kid but my two recent trips were both to Phoenix and both trip we went through that damn air turbulent rocking the damn plane scare the hell outta me.

Just depends on how you landed. The bad part is if you survived in a remote area you'd probably have to eat your fellow passengers sooner or later.

    i have a funny(scary) flying episode.....

since i have travelled all over the place in my life i never really got scared until...

once when i was flying from Germany to Abu Dhabi (Emirates Airline)the tail rotar in the back was jammed.... therefore luckily for all of us in the plane it was moving from left to right like a little cradle ..... since this was'nt bad enough the pilot announced that he will go through with the flight all the way and NOT turn around(we had taken off 45 minutes ago) so it seemed the pilot was confident we would make it:) .....then yes we went through some MAD turbulence (you know that feeling of free falling that happens when the plane goes up and down...well there was a lot of that)..... then when we were about to land the pilot announces that it is going to be a manual landing(no auto pilot help).....anyways the pilot tried landing THREE TIMES until finally he got it right..... YES WE ALL CLAPPED when the plane landed..

I've never had a fear of flying. I've looked up statistics and logically speaking, flying is by far the easiest and safest way to travel long distances. I'd certainly much rather place my faith on flying than a greyhound bus or my own interstate driving skills.

The biggest gripe people have about flying is the lack of control. Yet there are so many things you can't control even if you don't realize it. You could be on an elevator and the cable snaps, as you drop to your death. You could be rear-ended because the idiot behind you was tailing you. There could be a big fire in your building, and you can't get out. Someone could rob the bank while you're in it and kill you. The list goes on and on. Riding an airplane just happens to be one of them.

Btw, one of my favorite songs to listen on an airplane is Alanis Morissette's "Ironic". I find the lyrics about the flying part oddly soothing. :D

I don't know why, but flying's one thing that has never bothered me. Heights do to a point - if I don't feel secure I begin to feel uneasy, but looking out a window in a plane doesn't bother me. Lucky, I guess.

I might hesitate, thinking I should wait for the air marshalls and take their lead. But I don't think it would be good for the terrorists to succeed in taking over the flight...so yeah, I'd probably act quickly and hope others follow.

But what if you really didn't like the person? That makes it OK, right? right? RIGHT?

    Flying? Nope

Airports? Yes, most of my nightmares involve them.

Yeah, the first time in 15 years I flew anywhere, they wouldn't let me through check-in because I didn't have my valid DL on me (It had been stolen just before that) So after I showed the witch 174 forms of ID, she finally let me through. I barely got out of Texas without being searched 18 times and having to show all 174 forms of ID to every official that stopped me to search me.

I hadn't flown in so long, I completely forgot what it was like, but I remembered I wasn't scared of flying. I was just anxious, like getting on a roller coaster and waiting for it to start going.

Coming back from St. Louis was fine though. They didn't shive a git that my DL wasn't valid.

Since then, I've met a pilot who took me and a friend up in his little itty bitty plane. That was fun as hell. He did this trick where you experienced weightlessness for a couple seconds, and he did this other trick where he pretty much stopped flying alltogether. The only thing keeping us from falling to our deaths was the wind we were "not flying" into. Planes are badass.

I used to love flying as a kid. Then I went twelve years without flying and have been terrified on every flight since, pre and post 9/11. Taking off is fun, but I hate the feeling of turning while ascending.

Flying between America and Australia is the worst. 18 total hours of flight is just too much. Every time I feel turbulence I think the end is near.

I only fly if I absolutely have to.

I also only fly if I absolutely have to. I never really liked flying, but after 9/11 I loathe it. Mainly due to the extra security stuff you have to go through. Have to have at least a couple of stiff drinks before I board.

I really dont feal the extra security anymore, its just one extra metal detector to go through, and they just check your hand carry. Honestly, Its almost the same as what it used to be...

If I know I'm flying somewhere, I'm apprehensive for a few days beforehand. Once I get to the airport, I usually hit the nearest bar and have a stiff drink or two. Then I get on the plane and see that the 8 year old girl behind me isn't scared, so why should I be?

I think about it a lot. I travel frequently and hate it.

But, it is part of the job.

I have over 36,000 miles traveled this year alone.

    UGH !

Yes, without any doubt whatsoever. I would immediately try to tackle the guy(s). In previous times, when terrorists kidnapped planes to blackmail people into something, it would have been different, but nowadays, when they take over the plane, you know they do it to kill immediately. So your only slim chance of surviving is to tackle them as soon as you can.

This year, I have flown about 100,000 miles so far.

Correct me if I'm wrong but ain't the pilot's control room door are locked at all time even before people start entering the plane? If thats the case than the chance of terrorist entering the control room is very slim.
