ESPN favors streetballers. They even has a "streetball" show from time to time, I just cannot bear it.

How do you do that? (ripping from DVR). Do you have a video-input slot on your computer? Or are you recording to vcr, and then recording to DVD?

    Enlighten!

I agree that Yao doesn't get on highlight reels for dunks as much, but that's primarily because his dunks aren't so, well, spectacular. He's friggin' 7'6 after all.

I do think that at the begining of his career ESPN tended to focus more on his flops and blunders, but to be fair, since his breakout game in LA last season, Yao has been getting a lot of props on Sportscenter even on games when his play was mediocre compared to other Rockets. We do see a lot of his difficult fadeaways and jumphooks on highlights even though he may not have been the man in those games.

Yao's clearly a draw on Sportscenter now, so I don't think there's any bias against him at all nowadays.

    Nick...

I would guess he records to a Tivo or something like that...and then plays it thru a capture card on his computer....then encodes it.

I personally reord the whole games to my computer with my capture card and then edit and rip highlights adn post them on a friends server.

I havent gottern time to do any from this game or the Mavs game yet...I should have time today to do them.

I am from Canada using Expressvu satellite, which is compatible to Dishnet equipment. Well, I relocated the PVR hard disk to a mobile rack outside of the PVR so I can just pull it out and insert it into my PC (it has a compatible mobile rack as well) for ripping. There are programs that do the transfer and multiplexing, and of course others for DVD or VCD creation. This approach gives me a 100% digital transfer, as good as the satellite broadcast signal (as it will retain AC3 sound if the signal carries it). The only drawback is, except for movie channels, the sports channels only broadcast in 480x480 resolution. Not quite the 720x480 of DVD.

Of course they are simpler ways like routing the S-Video to your camcorder, then use Firewire from there to your PC. Make your pick. ;)

Did anyone notice that Yao actually gestured an apology to Kaman after the dunk? Maybe he hit Kaman during the action?

How could the refs miss that foul?! Yao went up for a sure dunk, but his arm was batted away. Yao never even touched the rim!
