I'm related to Ulysses S. Grant.

Not much to brag about as President. Fared better in his military career, however.

    Great Grandfather -

    E. G. Melroe

    Prairie Industrialist

Edward G. Melroe was North Dakota’s first major manufacturer. With his four sons he founded the Melroe Co. in 1946 to manufacture an improved windrow pickup that is still in production today. His inventive nature surfaced early, and he built his first "Lester Tractor" in 1918. He often modified his farm equipment to make it work more effectively, and sold his first patent for a windrow pickup to John Deere in 1939. Son-in-law, Gene Dahl, joined the company in 1950. Today the Melroe Co. markets windrow pickups, harroweeders, and the Bobcat® loader, and are the largest manufacturer in North Dakota employing more than 1,500 people. E. G. Melroe died in 1955
Inducted into the North Dakota Entrepreneur Hall of Fame in 1987.

    Grandfather -

    Eugene R. Dahl

    Manufacturing Entrepreneur

Gene Dahl played a key role in farm equipment manufacturing as a leader with the Melroe Company, Steiger Tractor, and Concord, Inc. First a teacher, he joined the Melroe family in 1950 to build the largest manufacturing company in North Dakota. When Melroe was sold to Clark Equipment in 1969, he joined Steiger as CEO and Chairman. Sales increased from $3 million to $105 million in six years, and the company became a world leader in the manufacture of 4-wheel drive tractors. Steiger was sold to JI Case in 1986. He served as Chairman of Concord, Inc., a manufacturer of minimum-till farm equipment from 1977 until its sale to Case Corp. in early 1996. He also co-founded First Dakota Capital, North Dakota’s first venture capital firm. Inducted into the North Dakota Entrepreneur Hall of Fame in 1990

And both my uncles are as well running a successful agricultural Business in North Dakota.

Yeah I come from a long line of Farm boys. But I'll probably make millions some other way.

I'm related to Nathan Hale somehow, great cousin or uncle allegedly.

Hale, Nathan (1755-76), hero of the American Revolution, born in Coventry, Connecticut, and educated at Yale College (now Yale University). He taught school from 1773 until shortly after the outbreak of the American Revolution in 1775, when he became a lieutenant in the Continental Army. The following year he was promoted to captain. While stationed near New York City under the command of the American officer Major Thomas Knowlton, Hale volunteered, in early September 1776, to perform spy duty behind the British lines on Long Island. Disguised as a schoolmaster, he secured vital military information, but on September 21, before he could return to safe territory, he was captured. The next morning he was hanged in New York City by the British as a spy. His last words are supposed to have been: “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”

He may not be popular here in the U.S. but he is well known to most soccer fans in Mexico. He's my uncle, in relation to my Grandmother's, sister's son. Alberto Garcia Aspe:

My dad was on the local news one time, does that count?

Then again, so was I. You know, one of those cheap stunts to get 25 nine year olds to say, "Fox 75584 is the best!"

Seriously, I have no idea if I am related to anybody famous. I did go to a family reunion lately, but it seemed as though the best relative was a guy who taught at Berkley(sp?)

    Hmm...my middle name is Jackson....NOOOOO!

    Well, we're both white. :( ;)

My father's real father's family is supposedly somehow related to Dashiell Hammett. As a matter of fact, had my father not been adopted by his maternal grandparents, my last name would be Hammett.
