    1. He didn't kick Yao. If you look carefully, he was using his legs on the floor to push himself from under Yao. It was to get up as quickly as possible. In the heat of a game and the space of less than a second, it was easy to jump to the conclusion that he kicked Yao.

    2. I don't think he flopped. He just threw himself into a 300 pound Great Wall, and naturally of course, his not so irresistable force just fell to the immovable object :D

He might have flopped, but this is definitely not a kick.

That is it. You can see him scoot across the floor. He was pushing off Yao.

I don't think he intentionally tried to kick him since they are pretty good friends. Maybe just the reaction of gettting up quickly back into play. Imagine if you had 300+ pounds falling on your leg. That would hurt.

And it was clearly a FLOP!

I watched it a few times on Tivo last night. My expert (amatuer) opinion is that Nash was not trying to kick Yao, but to gain separation to get up quicker. I slo-mo'ed it a few times as well

what about the Yao offensive foul in the first quarter. i think that is the one play i'd complain about if I was Yao for last night. that was ridiculous.

yes, it's okay for their to be contact from a defender when you are posting up, but it shouldn't be okay for that defender to be grabbing and pushing, and most definitely should not be an offensive foul when you do the same in retaliation...if Yao even did. It wasn't clear.

OTOH, obviously the Yao travel call in the 4th quarter was a good call. Yao did travel. Considering he already had 1 delay of game, that was a dumb mistake on his part getting the second one.

I think after last year Nash is a little different. Its all fun and good to put his bloody nose on the commercial but that crap happened as well as him getting thrown into the scorers table. I think he is a little more hard edged this year and friendships are fine but they end when you have on a different uni.
