I always use a land speeder on Tatooine. The curved winshield protects me from the sand and grit. Sand, it gets everywhere.

I have a 1994 Ford F-150 with 170,000 miles and have never had a problem. Regularly maintaining your vehicle no matter what it is will prevent problems.

Well, he did say he didn't care about reliability... lol. I can't say I've ever heard anyone say that before, but... :D

Ford pickups are fine from what I undersand. It's everything else they build that is pretty much junk. You had no choice but to maintain crappy cars like the Taurus and Escort - they kept breaking down! :)

What day and age are you living in?? I change cars about every 16 months, most NEW cars arent going to have any major problems with them in that amount of time... Now if I said I was going to buy this car and hang onto it for 5-8 years... yeah you got a point about reliability, but thats not the case..

I'm pretty sure Fatty bought a Land Rover recently. I seem to remember him having some trouble with the AM radio. :)

Well, I live in 2005. Not sure when you live, but... :

The 2004 JD Power IQS Survey puts Land Rover at the bottom third or quarter of all nameplates it surveyed. In case you didn't know, the IQS reports problems per 100 vehicles over the first 90 days of ownership.

The 2004 JD Power Vehicle Dependability study puts Land Rover dead last. Below Kia, Daewoo, etc. But don't worry, I'm sure all those problems happened in the 3rd year. ;)

Just look at the JD Power site and where they rank in terms of reliability and consumer complaints per 100 vehicles. They make Land Rover look like Lexus in terms of reliability. Oh yeah, and don't forget you'll be taking out loans to fill the gas tank up. I think they have a 32 gallon gas tank and get 10 mpg in the city - lol. The other thing that most of the people forget about is these things don't fit in a standard garage, so they come back to the dealer and start cussing up a storm. I keep asking myself how dense do you have to be to buy one of these things not knowing you're forking over a ton of money for an unreliable, Chevy Tahoe-based, no gas mileage gettin', can't fit into a garage, monstrosity that people point at and say "what an idiot"?

So there... the Hummer H2 is probably my most hated vehicle, btw, as if you couldn't notice. :D

Ford F150 = best truck ever made. That's why it's consistently been the top selling vehicle (car, truck, anything) in the US for something like 10 straight years.

Why own a land rover when you can own a 4Runner!

Got to go look at the new LR3 and was impressed with the interior, I really liked the DVD Nav with all the large buttons that made it easy to use, but the downfall came with the overall power of it.. the LR3 moved kinda slow for a V8 and also couldnt get over the funny look of the back window... I also didnt like the "FULL TIME 4 wheel drive" what happened to the good ole days of lockout hubs?? Anyway, it'll be a pass on the Land Rover for now..

Correct. I have owned my Discovery for 5 months now. It has 90,000 miles on it. Not a problem at all except the gas gauge doesn't work, and it was like that when I bought it.

And remember, I go to Memphis every other month. Just got back last night. No problems.

    (And still no AM radio):(

    I had a Discovery a while back - great f-ing truck.

More luxury, off-road ability, and fun than any other SUV for the same price.

Also, has ZERO problems with the thing, and Rover offers great extended warranty packages if you are really worried about that.
