Having a better defender and more consistent 3 point shot at the 3 spot is going to do wonders for this team.
ariza has matured a lot last time he was here, he was a maniac. Now he just sits in the corner, waiting to hit 3s, doesn't try to be someone he isn't anymore
To me he was always good. Just asked him to do too much. He's a great role player. Btw, he was promised a bigger role the first time.
Ariza's game stats tonight: 30 min | 16 pts | 5-10 fg | 5-8 3pt | 3 reb | 2 ast | 2 stl | +10 (plus/minus) Parsons game stats: 34 min | 5 pts | 2-10 fg | 1-4 3pt | 4 reb | 0 ast | 2 stl | 0 (plus/minus) Only one game, but so far it appears Ariza is the better fit with his new team. We all know Parsons isn't this bad, but the real question is if he's $14MM per season better? Morey says hell no, and I have to agree. Warmly welcome, Trevor Ariza!
Why would anyone be shocked by how good Trevor Ariza is? Only those who don't watch other teams play would be "surprised." He's one of the BEST role players in the NBA. He's performed when its counted the most in the post-season for every team he's played for....Lakers, NO, Wizards....and will do it for the Rockets in the playoffs as well. He's on a good contract and is an upgrade over Parsons.
I like all the new guys we got (so far) getting PT. Black, Terry, Kostas, and Ariza are all playing well.

Seriously though, Ariza has shown he can play good defense and spot up and shoot. Throw in the ability to slash and we've got a perfect compliment over retaining Parsons (for his contract, which would have been a bit unreasonable vs performance). I was also happy that Jones seemed more interested in playing and Black did well off the bench on his help defense + rebounding. Terry hitting 3's tonight was icing on the cake. Really weird seeing Parsons in a Mavs jersey, Terry in a Rockets jersey and Boozer in a Lakers jersey..
