Ariza needs to start driving to the basket exclusively, no more jump shots before his entire game turns to crap. Except on defense he has turned into a "pumpkin." May be time to bring him off the bench.
Forget 50%. How about his career 42%. Or the 39% he shot his first go-around here. http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/2426/trevor-ariza Outside of the first 5 games, where he obviously shot out of this world... He's had four games where he shot >=.400 FG% | 3PT% October(2 games): .600 | .600 November: .363 | .327 December: .333 | .279 January(3 games): .238 | .111
He's becoming the kind of awful where his defense doesn't really compensate anymore. Approaching Francisco Garcia levels.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO on the driving, the guy is horrendous on the bounce. Did you see his pass off of DMo's shins when the Rockets were up late tonight? He is putrid on offense on anything outside of a stand up 3pt shot. I am actually SHOCKED that a man as smart as Morey would make the same mistake twice. Fool me once shame on you...fool me twice....... D
The only thing he good at is being consistent. You know just how terrible he's going to be offensively night in and night out.
Ariza has a more workmanlike ethic, better on-court body language, better defensive IQ, more experience, and a decent price tag. That being said, he is bricking like a machine. I cringe every single time he shoots. He needs to turn it around quickly or we need to seriously consider starting Brewer and further contribute to the decline of our once great defense.
We are just a horrible shooting team all the way around now. Plus our defense has dissapeared so we are back to playing 500 ball.
And here i thought this was a special season where we are gritty and tough. That seams like so long ago now. Same old team as before, i would be surprised if we made it out of the 1st round this year.
Ariza absolutely deserves to be in NBA All D Team! Riddick at 5-7 games (when Trevor picks him) - 34pts, 11-37 FG, 6-26 3's Klay at current series - 28pts, 12-33 FG, 2-14 3's Even Leonard and Tony Allen don't shown so good D against these guys We win series vs. LAC and fighting on equal footing in the current series largely due to him.
He's a true friend. The one you can go to battle with. I like the fact that he's always looking after Harden. The first to pick him up from the floor at the end of the game; he didn't leave him by himself in the middle of the Warriors' celebration. Remember the CLE game, how he confronted Mozgov for kicking Harden?
I hope Ariza spends a few more seasons with Harden just so I can hear him go Robert Horry on everyone. "You know.. I played with two great SGs, but Harden was on another level. He could pass!" or something like that. I'm reference Horry comparing Shaq, Dream, and Timmy. Horry picked Dream and said he could hit his free throws lol.
