Anyone else notice T-Mac getting booed when his video was on the screen?

But the Rockets players haven't quit on him, so we shouldn't either.

Give Tmac this supporting cast and offensive scheme 2 years ago and we get out of the 1st round easy. We're better because we have guys like Scola, Von Wafer and Aaron Brooks putting up 20 point games. That never happened before.

BTW, I would be interested to hear how his rehab is going.....he had very minor microfracture surgery.

John Stockton had the same and was back playing in under 3 months.

I would be curious as to how Tmac is responding.

Yeah but you can't worry about two years ago, you have to worry about the now. Two years ago is done, closed.

TMac DID have this team and this roster to compete with this year, but just handled it poorly. Again, spilled milk. We're going to get to the 2nd round without him.

I hope he has some good games left in his future, I really do. I wouldn't mind him coming back to the Rockets. But that all remains to be seen. Let's just focus on the playoffs and forget about Tracy for a while.

And, if Tmac was so committed to playing with this roster, he should have actually done the rehab last summer and come into camp in shape instead of fat, out of shape, and not having done the rehab which surely contributed to the knee getting worse.

And then there is the entire choosing the elective microfracture proceedure over the recommended strengthening of the quad muscles recommended by 4 other leading physicians.

Whatever, he is what he is.....a talented player with a turnip between his ears.

    Yeah......

It'll be nice when we, as Rockets fans, don't have to worry about what-ifs so much.

Its not an excuse, its a logical explanation. People like to blame Tmac for not getting out of the 1st round. We're on the right path to make it out this season with Brooks as the leading scorer for the series after 3 games.

And even last season it was "well he's not scoring in the 4th when it really matters!". I think Yao's averaging like 2 points in the 4th quarter for this series. Same with Artest. But no one is complaining (and they shouldn't complain) because you have guys like Battier, Brooks and Wafer hitting big shots.

I'm not one of those "Tmac is perfect, give him a break" fans either. But you just don't boo the guy when he's still on the team and would probably still be playing had he not had to have surgery.

    My point stands.

And you agree with me. So why are we arguing?

I'm not really...just tired of Tmac threads.....I am actually glad he is attending the games.

The Rockets have to do something with him, either as a player or trade bait...so they are smart to get him to the games, now they need to start repairing his lazy image, and get him to shut his cake hole when people ask him about things that might have an affect on the team.

The Rockets need him as an ASSET......nothing more.

People are more and more greedy and ungrateful nowadays, which is the main cause of the whole financial crisis. It's Rockets playoff game opening, is it necessary to boo your formal franchise player?

TMac isn't LeBron or Kobe, but he was a great player, and contributed A LOT to the Rockets team. Without him, we wouldn't have had those 50+ wins and a fight in playoffs. He's soft or unlucky, he didn't get to pass the first round. Lots of things happened this season, we had Scola/Landry/Artest/Wafer, so that we could be decent without him, especially an unhealthy TMac. Is that the reason we want to be so mean to him?

He sits on the bench, you boo him, what message you are sending to other players - we are all bangwagoners, you should be one as well, when you can. He picked Lakers? So what? I bet 14 out of 15 Rockets current players might be picking LA, Cars, or Celtics, except for Ron. But that's Ron, what's the value of that pick? Heck, how many fans picked Rockets?

Rockets as an organization, has sent every single past franchise player away, no exceptions. I guess it's TMac's turn now, Yao would be next, maybe AB next. Past great players on other teams are still around the organization. Where are ours?

On this board, we claim how we are better fans or better organization, how convincing.

I'm not sure how you combine minor and surgery in the same sentence? Surgery is surgery and people recover from it in different ways. Tmac knows his body better than anyone, not the doctors, not the coaches, not the fans. I still think he is committed to returning to the rockets and playing basketball at the level he was at during his prime.

Really neither here nor there, but I wouldn't compare TMac's toughness to John Stockton's. Not to mention the idea that all knee injuries are different and hit people differently, but Stockton was a freak of nature in terms of durability and toughness. He could probably still play today if he could skip back-to-backs.

Trust me, I hate Stockton as much as anybody for what's he's done to us over the years, and I am all for McGrady not playing again in Houston - but you can't compare the two in terms of toughness.

5 stars! I had a knee injury playing basketball years ago that still effects me from time to time. It's a complete double standard to hate on T-Mac for a knee injury and Yao was out last year and recieved none of this wrath. Moreover, T-Mac did more against Utah than Yao has done so far against Portland. We just have a better and more experienced team -- and a better matchup this year. Tracy just needs to be more PR savy w/ what he says.
