Exactly. Sometimes, to get good/better things, you have to give up other good things. Nobody is going to give you something for nothing.
Huge as in going from a bmw 3 convertible to a chrysler lebaron. I can understand the lowry trade because it helped get harden and mchale-lowry had a few issues, but to let dragic go when he excelled under the coach was the one. The 4th yr option would've been good either way. Dragic on this team and we're talking top seed in west.
Letting Dragic go is a black spot on Morey's reputation. Interestingly, I haven't heard much about it on this forum.
Dragic's playing best bball of his life right now. There is no doubt about that. Though Suns are just as underrated talent wise as we're overrated. We were picked to be top dogs and we know how that ends. Chemistry, fitness, and COACHING are all contributing factors to a team's success.
It is because he has legitimate reasons; cap flexibility. White pick on the other hand, is much criticized, because it was a gamble that when very bad for us.
Also, the Dragic we let go is not the Dragic you are seeing on the Suns right now. Granted I still felt both players are superior to any of our current PG's but to be fair, Dragic was not this good when we let him go due to a 4th year option.
True. Pretty much the same can be said. Going from the likes of Scola, Martin, Ppat, Budinger etc to Howard/Harden felt like going from Honda S2000 to Lambo.
Goran was snubbed, but he's slowely gaining recognition around the league. Ranked 9th in the mvp rankings http://www.nba.com/mvp-ladder/
I agree. Gerald Green can be impressive a lot of times. I am happy for Marcus Morris. He is inconsistent but better than he was on the Rockets / not as good as Markief Morris this season though. Dragic was very good on the Rockets. He plays hard every minute unlike the Rockets farce All-Stars.
Kind of ironic that if both NYK and HOU had resigned their PG's at the time, both teams would probably be better off.
to be fair yes he was he was who we thought he was he averaged like what 18 and 8 with us first time starting, it was ridonculous
Wow, even many bball fans are now considering him top 10 player in the league!? How amazingly has preception of his value grown in the last few months. I had no idea, and didn't eaven think it's possible for him to sore that high. Silly me Proved wrong again. http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=324359
Phoenix...with their level of talent is barely behind. And they are being led by Dragic so it is legitimate. One of the problems I have with stating you need "A 3rd or x star" is that you have great players that can be stars if you stick with them and develop them. It was clear that Dragic and Lowry were such players and I am getting the same vibe from Parsons.
Yes, you don't hear other teams always saying, "We need to get another star in order to win". Besides, I thought Morey said after the Rockets got Harden, "Now, we just need to get 1 more star". Now 2 so-called stars is not enough. I never bought any of this rationale & I still don't.
