Mutumbo may be 53 years young, but he's also something we don't have: a big, strong 7 foot tall backup to Yao Ming.

And I don't know if some of you Mutumbo nay sayers realize this or not, but Yao Ming is injury prone-and even if he doesn't get knocked out for weeks or months he's bound to miss at least a few more games.

So, it would be pretty beneficial to have that old, broken down body to put in 10-15 minutes a game allowing Yao Ming to get some much needed rest. Keeping Yao Ming fresh and healthy is a big key to a successful season, and in limited minutes Mutumbo can still be an impact role player.

He may not be the guy he was once, but he can still block shots, defend, post up, and rebound. Inside he is still a force to be reckoned with, and as it stands now we really have no one to properly back up Yao Ming at center.

One way or the other we need to do something about the backup center position-thru trade, signing mutumbo... or whatever it takes.

No need to bump old threads unnecessarily.
