Chrome is bloated and trash but I understand chromium being the de facto standard. Smart move for Microsoft to go with it. Their CEO Nadella is killing it.

Recently tried Edge to see how I'd like it. Turns out it's just a browser like Chrome is just a browser. I don't get how people can have such strong opinions about which is best. Chrome and Edge are 99% the same. The biggest difference is which corporate overlord gets to vacuum up and leverage your personal data for free.

I mean, I definitely notice speed differences between the two depending on what I do. I think it's one of those things, if you notice the small things you might have a preference.

Switching to the chromium base is going to be super interesting. I'm excited to see what they do.

Microsoft’s new Chromium-based Edge browser intends to support existing Chrome extensions, a member of the software’s development team has confirmed on Reddit (via Thurrott). The announcement will be good news for anyone who relies on the thousands of extensions in Chrome’s library which add functionality ranging from integrating password managers and project management apps, to one that simply replaces Elon Musk’s name with ‘Grimes’s Boyfriend’ whenever it appears on a webpage.

I just bought a computer that came with Edge. For whatever reason it won't let me download Chrome, so I've been stuck with it in the past week. I've had a couple big issues with it so far and I'm waiting to hear back from Chrome about how to be able to download it.
