Kobe was a fool to play Mac so close. It allowed him to drive past Kobe.

This is the Mac and Yao we have been waiting 4 years to see. Hope they can keep it going.

or take more than 1 shot in the 4th. i didn't like that adelman used tmac as a playmaker for the 4th and ran him through a plethora of pick and rolls that resulted in him being double teamed HARD after his great 3rd quarter.

but i guess going down the stretch, we had to go to our most familiar plays and can't use the new offense as our bread and butter yet.

it was great to see yao attack a lot in single coverage. if tmac keeps playing like this, yao will flourish. hope to see more dunks like that. beautiful sight to see yao doing facials.

I should add he looked good, but nothing special, and as usual he got most of his points in one quarter (the same trend in the last couple of years).

Overall, I can't pass judgement after just one game. I will just say he had a good game and hope he stays efficient (emphasis added) and -- more importantly -- healthy (double emphasis added)...

but if that's how he's going to be used offensively, it'll be a familiar sight of efficiency.

he only struggled to get shots when he became a playmaker again and got doubled on pick and rolls. but that seemed to get otheres involved.

but we still have a lot of work to do. turnovers and just getting down the O.

looks like our D will still be top notch.

I fear you're hastily coming to a conclusion here based on a very small sample (one game)...but I hope you're right.

T-mac looked great last night. It was really a thrill to watch. Based on last night, how many dunks do you think he'll get this season? 82 maybe? one each game assuming he will play in many of them. I think he had around 35-40 last year. You can keep track of all the dunks for everyone here if you didn't already know about this: http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/dunk-o-meter/yearly

Actually, you could make your own thread on this...can someone do that? cause I'm a rookie right now and I can't.

When was the last time TMAC won Dunk of the Night on NBA.com?

When was the last time TMAC had two spectacular dunks in a single game?

    :D

    I love it!

He looked a lot less laboured on offense. His ppg will definitely go up this year

yeah i got up and out when yao spun and dunked on cook and brown, but then again when cook was guarding yao i yelled out this is money right here...that was a nice dunk.

...then the next play tmac with the very graceful and athletic dunk he shifted around kobe to avoid contact and dunked it with his left hand. collins even noted that if he went up with his right it would have been a foul or a block by kobe but he finishes so well with his left. i havent seen him pull a dunk like that since his first year here, a comparable dunk that year was the dunk he had over Zo in the game against the heat at home that year.

he was moving well...he was being fouled a lot the entire game trying to get the ball but nothing was called...had he got some of his first shots to fall he would have had 40 easy.

weird thing was i looked at the box score after the game and was like tmac had 30? i cant remember him scoring that much...it was all done effortlessly and more importantly, within the offense.

if this trend continues he'll have his highest ppg since his orlando days.

again, it all depends if tmac is going to keep playing in that role. w/ our offensive options, i believe he will. tmac became a playmaker in the 4th b/c adelman i believe wanted to keep the turnovers down and play a familiar offense (tmac pick and roll). but doing that trapped him all the time so he couldn't get a shot off and had to pass.

but the first 3 quarters, he was used perfect

kobe holds him A LOT in his effort to deny him from getting the ball when tmac was off the ball. no calls. getting bumped on the pick and roll, no call.

but tmac does not complain like kobe so it seemed pointless.

I must admit it was wonderful seeing T-Mac move around the court in space. Once he got the first dunk, that seemed to throw a switch for him - he seemed sluggish until then. He also drove more than I've been accustomed to the past couple of years. All in all it was a promising start for T-Mac. Here's to him keeping it up!

yeah definitely i saw kobe basically mug him to prevent him to get the ball...tmac got bumped a lot and doesnt get the same calls kobe does...i do like that tmac doesnt really complain about it because he knows it wont help he did give the officials some looks after a few plays like "oh man you know that was a foul"

tracy complained more about the fouls that were called on him rather than things that werent called on the offensive end.

i am really interested in what he has in store for us at utah

unfortunately i didn't go to this game b/c i'm at school in SF. but i've gone to the last 4 laker-rox games in LA. and trust me, kobe ALWAYS holds him some way some how.

but tmac does not let it bother him. that's why u see him play a guy like bowen who can be a pest and he still doesn't complain. same w/ artest.

    tmac is just tmac.

Tmac is good, but I thought he was trying to show off too much early on, like he tried to tell Kobe he was better. Relax, T, just play your game.

    His back looks great!!

    He really was.

His jumpers looks a lot better, he's makin' it.

He's a lot quicker, he just doesn't think about his back.
