They said on the broadcast that Ron's test was fine, and he is ready to go.

"Artest had an MRI and bone scan on his nagging right ankle that showed improvement, but Adelman could not say when Artest would be return to the lineup. “We’ve got to see how he’s reacting, how he plays,” Adelman said."

The bone scan and MRI performed on Ron Artest’s troublesome right ankle showed enough improvement for him to return to practice tomorrow, but not enough to put a timetable on his return to the court.

Rockets athletic trainer Keith Jones said Artest and Tracy McGrady could return to practice tomorrow and if that goes well, practice again on Saturday on the road trip before a decision would be made about when they might return. He said he was marginally optimistic that they could play in New York on Monday.

With both, Rockets coach Rick Adelman said he was determined not to return to the pattern of changing lineups each game.

"That’s great that that happened," Adelman said of Artest’s encouraging test results. I have to see him on the floor. I have to see how he is reacting, how he plays. It was terrific news, but I guess I’m not going to get too elated. We’ll deal with how Ron practices if he practices tomorrow. I’ve given up on timetables. Those guys, if they’re going to play in the games, they have to go out and practice."

RA's approach is right. who cares if they say they're ready? let's see it in MULTIPLE practices so we don't get the ins and outs anymore so we can get a consistent lineup and consistent practices.

but from the looks of it, most likely both will play v. NY on monday. if not, on the next road trip for sure.
