You guys worrying about the defense of opposing PGs don't seem to remember that Ariza has guarded the PG position in winning time.
Prigioni is 37. Terry is 37 and coming off an injury. I don't see any scenario where Jet playing anything other than key spot minutes in the postseason can be spun positively.
Brewer and Ariza can guard point guards. We've seen other good defensive small forwards do the same in the past. Excuse me for not jumping off of a cliff. We have an effin MVP on our team that's playing historic ball. You don't believe and quite frankly, Idgaf.
Just gonna have to rely on Pablo who is probably a more reliable 3 point shooter, better floor general/natural PG, but less of a defender. Relying on Jason Terry is what scares me the most. The guy just isn't made for the Rockets system. Can't defend, can't create, and on offense he isn't coming off screens for jump shots. Anyone thinking he could just be a 3 point specialist hasn't watched Jason Terry at all over his career. He's a shooter, but far from a 3 point specialist... and that was like 6 years ago. Nick Johnson will get a "chance" albeit a small one. He better be ready to impress or McHale will sit his a$# at the first chance and he will never see the floor again, and will we will get 48 minutes of Terry. Who the hell knows though... Beverley could be back tomorrow night for all we know. The guy has fought off season ending injuries before. You'll have to keep a gun to his head in order to keep him from coming up to the TC. He's that kind of guy. I'm not ruling him out just yet.
Thanks George Hill for taking that archaic contested mid-range shot that somehow fractured a guy's wrist. Amazing.
I'm just tying to inject some positivity into this thread. Already fans are panicking and there hasn't even been a diagnosis yet. We haven't seen Rockets play without Bev or Canaan in the lineup. Nick, Prigioni and Jet could all step up. A lot of premature I-told-you-so's. Let's just wait and see.
I can explain it through the magic of song. Ol' Jason Terry lived down a dirt road Made homemade wine like nobody I know Dropped by one Friday night and said "Can you help me, JET Got a little girl waitin' on me and I wanna treat her right" "I got what you need son; it's sittin' down in the cellar" He reached through the cobwebs As he turned on the light and said "There might be a little dust on the bottle But don't let it fool ya about what's inside There might be a little dust on the bottle It's one of those things that gets sweeter with time" She was sittin' in the porch swing as I pulled up the driveway My ol' heart was racing as she climbed inside She slid over real close and drove down to the lake road Watched the Sun fade in that big red sky I reached under the front seat and said "Now here's something special It's just been waiting for a night like tonight" There might be a little dust on the bottle But don't let it fool ya about what's inside There might be a little dust on the bottle It's one of those things that gets sweeter with time You're still with me, and we've made some memories After all these years there's one thing I've found Some say clutch playoff performers, well, they're like a fine wine They keep getting better as the days go by There might be a little dust on the bottle But don't let it fool ya about what's inside There might be a little dust on the bottle It's one of those things that gets sweeter with time There might be a little dust on the bottle But don't let it fool ya about what's inside There might be a little dust on the bottle It's one of those things that gets sweeter with time Don't let it fool ya
So have they officially announced anything or waiting until tomorrow?? Man... Hopefully nothing too bad, I didn't get to watch the game last night, but how bad did the injury look at the time? I really hope he's available by playoffs... Even if he's had some off games (who doesn't), he's still a really important member of the team.
I'd be shocked if Pat went out like this...He'll probably get a cast and stay on the roster to play a few backup minutes defensively.
Like I said I trust Prigs to turn it on now that he will get guaranteed minutes. He's a good defender but his lack of PT in game make him look out of sync. I think he will font in great with Dwight on PNR. Hoping Bev makes it back for the playoffs but he isnt what's gonna get us to the finals lets alone through the first round.
Brew and Ariza can handle opposing PGs, Prigioni and Harden can run the offense...Terry can play SG with Harden and when Brewer and Ariza aren't guarding the PG Dwight can clean up the mess that Terry and Prigioni make...I wish we could have a healthy Beverley, but this is not the end of the world
