I'm more sure than ever too after reading these posts. We made a smart move. It has been well explained in this thread by Gibblets, The Freak, etc. I hope you guys bookmark this thread. It's going to be funny to look at some of these responses in about 6 months when you compare Collier to Moiso or Przybilla. ------------------ Member of the pro-Collier/Langhi movement. Freak, but see I enjoy disagreeing with you . I think it was pretty obvious to you (even if Cat and Achebe aren't wise enough to seperate the argument from attitude) the parts of Gibblet's post I took offense (I obviously wasn't the only one). The post had the taste that all people who see things a little different are a bunch of “Commie-Pinkos” in the 50’s, there is no excuse for that in the BBS. It is true we don't know how the trade will turn out until much later. But that cuts both ways, as you acknowledged. We don't know how good Moiso, Thomas, Przybilla will be nor how Collier and whomever we get for Milw's pick will turn out , thus we can say nothing at all or state that in our opinion it looks like a good/bad trade at this point and lay out our thoughts on it. Nobody here (unless privileged to inside info) can do any more or any less than say how they think the trade looks given public information and their own observations. Saying you can't give a “neah” or “yeah” for that matter about a move until it is played out is like saying we shouldn't stop nuclear proliferation with rogue countries (just let play out?) or criticize our government (after all just, like the Rockets, a lot of people work for the government and have access to unique information--thus by this logic we should always assume they are making the best decisions??). Our course we don't know how things will eventually turn out, and may not have access to all the information other organizations have, but you can still voice your opinion and just maybe you may be right in your dissent from the bigger, larger, more privileged to information, organization. Sorry to get tangential here, but I always hear “well I am sure the Rockets always make the best decisions for the Rockets, us fans couldn’t possibly be right about something” argument and think it just doesn’t hold water. There is such a thing as group-think (a bunch of people can get too tied to one philosophy or a charismatic leader's vision resulting in the group getting more distorted in seeing the big picture). To put in other words, not being able to see the forest fromt he tree's is a very common occurance, and plenty of smart, well-meaning, and well-funded organizations in any walk of life (government, business, sports) have made completely bone-headed decisions from time to time. As I said initially, and my main point to Gibblets is that dissent and dialogue is healthy and should be respected. Freak, there are more times we disagree than agree, and though you are obviously short-sided on these issues , I respect the diologue that comes with having different views. I might have a little fun debating myself (or others with the same views), but over time I would be bored. As for Milwaukee, it is my opinion they have some very talented individuals, a good coach, but they have been missing decent role players and depth. Some have discounted the fact they were a bucket away from beating Indiana, I think that gives you an idea of their fire power. Further, I think they are addressing their weaknesses even before free agent season has started (adding Przy, Caffey, Owens, Redd). In short, I see Milwaukee as high as #4 in the east, no lower than #7. They won't be better than NY, Ind or Mia (barring very strange offseasons for those teams). They will be better than Detroit (barring Hill quickly changing his tune), likely better than Phily (definitely if Iverson is gone), and their other competitors from the 4-8 spots have questions too (Toronto-def. if they lose T-Mac, def Char if the lose Jones, Orlando unless they add Hill & Duncan). In fact except for the top 3, I would say Milwalkee will be facing the least amount of questions right now as to their next years status in the East. Of course one big injury to Cassell or Allen, and a #11 finish, and we come out looking like genius. I don’t like our odds though. My prediction for Milw, #19 +/- 2 (depending on primarily other teams FA movement). I am still with Almu, I don’t like how our draft went and have not heard good enough reasons to think otherwise. Again, I would really, really, like to be proved wrong and for us to get the #11 pick next year and Collier to win rookie of the year. But my objective side says these events are not very likely.
