Yes, my son. I know what you are feeling right now. I just want you to know that you are special. Circumventing the restrictions on clutchfans is wrong. Laughing at the word circumventing is also wrong. I would like you to turn yourself in. If not I will have to send a letter home to notify you parents. I know your parents don't give a crap but that's what I am going to have to spend the next 15 minutes doing because I am a teacher. But if you keep doing it I'm going to loose it, track you down at your house on Sunday morning when you least expect me, and I will beat the living **** out of you. Then I will look back on how enlightening the experience of teaching has made me feel.

Thank you. I had NO IDEA that there were any bad kids in our school system.

This has certainly been an eye-opening experience.

My dad just told me about it. For SBISD, you need 60 hours of college credit. You get more for having your gegree (VY!) or teaching certificate. Each district should have its requirements on its website.
What my does for me in the district is call me when he needs a sub. I work at other schools in the district, but I usually frequent his. It's nice working with my dad, but there's some real stress associated with it. Anything I do reflects on him. So I have to make sure I do my job and do it well. But I had to go through the same requirements and background checks as any other sub. And when I get to other schools, they usually look at me and go, "Are you Joe's son?"

Do well on the TAKS or TEKS or whatever it is (sorry I haven't taught in a few years)... That's no way to teach - that's actually shorting the kids an education - there's so much more to learn that what's on a (stupid) standardized test.

What does he teach? Has he been there for long? (or a name would suffice ;]) One of the smartest, most wonderful teachers I've ever had the pleasure of meeting teaches at KHS. Just wondering if it's him.

I think that probably depends on the school but I agree about some private school kids acting like that.

But, I went to private school for 12 years (at the school where I would like to teach once I am certified) and there were mainly behavior issues.. talking, cliques, and stuff like that rather than having to worry about a kid packing a knife - or worse - in his/her backpack (which is what a friend I went to high school had to deal with at our local public school - they eventually went only clear backpacks and metal detectors)

He has been there for maybe 7 or 8 years now. I believes he teaches Freshmen English. he used to do journalism year book stuff, and coach Freshman boys basketball as an assistant, I think. Now he just teaches Freshman English.

Tell me if it sounds like him. I can't imagine anyone saying such nice things about anyone who's a friend of mine though. :)

It may be even more years than that. I'm not sure.
