Gerald Wallace had Peja and Turk ahead of him in the depth chart. They were solid players. Young guys on the rockets have mediocre players ahead of them on the depth chart.

Peja was good, but Turk has never been more than mediocre.

In the end, the bottom line is both coaches played the guys who gave them the best chance to win. However you slice it, the Rockets regulars gave them the bech chance to win this season... as did the Kings rotation guys. The youngsters had to earn their minutes under each coach by beating out the guy in front of him.

Hedo at the time was a much better player than Wallace who really has only showed what he is capable of on a really crappy team. And I really dont believe a guy like JLIII as the backup pg gave us the best chance at winning games. What did howard do to help the rockets win games.

He and Deke upped their minutes and production with Yao out. Without these two producing, the Rockets don't go 20-12 without Yao.

Boris Diaw would be the guy I would be targeting.

    1. He’s overpaid ($9 mil per), which is a good thing for the Rockets. Our best chance at adding talent to this team is targeting overpaid players.

    2. He’s a perfect fit for Adelman’s system, which best utilizes big men that can dribble and pass.

    3. He gives us another post-up player besides Yao

    4. He gives us another ballhandler/playmaker besides Mcgrady.

Isn't Diaw a BYC player, making him difficult to trade, unless part of a larger package of salaries?

Kurt Thomas has a 1 year player's option for $8.1 mil that he plans to excercise. He can defend the athletic PF, and has a pretty nice jumper.

If Houston can offer him a 5 or 6 year deal starting at the MLE, he may consider it... that is unless he already has a handshake deal w/ the Suns to resign after this year.

If JVG was still coach then I bet that is what he would do.

I think Battier+Sura for Diaw would be a fair swap. The Suns need to shed salary and get improve defensively. We need another playmaker.

Si mucho quesos, necesitamos un guardo poedrle correo muy rapido. Barbosa es muy cheapo, el hace $1.6 milliono para ano. Me no speako spanish well.

This is incredibly racist, and its not even the right type of joke, seeing as how Barbosa is Brazilian and they speak Portuguese. I appologize in advanced. Regardless, I would really like to get some athleticism over the summer, I don't know why or how Phoenix would let go of him tho.

Not much to say bout taking a suns player. I would welcome getting one of their draft picks or moving up to get their second one.

On Sura, We can get some back due to career ending injury (1.5 millionish i think)

On Deke, I don't know if he will come back because Gundy is leaving. He wouldn't really fit into Adelman's past systems. I will say, he will probably be the cheapest back-up C we can find, esp since the league will pay the extra cost over the league minimum for us to sign him (some league veteran min sal. rule).

Could taking on Sura's contract help any team to avoid paying the luxury tax?

I know you are being sarcastic, but seriously ISIAH Thomas is probably the best draft day GM in the NBA, nobody can pick talent in a draft like Isiah can.

What are you basing that on? Hopefully NOT last year's draft?!
