My Dad lives in a different city in Texas and they don't always get Rockets games. I have a TV card in my computer, and I've used Windows Media Encoder to stream the video to him. Quality was excellent. Only my dad was connecting, but it supports multiple connections. But would think that, as more people connected, I would reach my upstream bandwidth limit pretty quick and things would shut down.
I've got a slingbox, it's just sitting there doing nothing at the moment though. I live in an apartment for now, and using their free internet i'm not able to get a signal through, only locally.
I have a Slingbox set-up so I can watch the games in Austin. My favorite feature is being able to watch it from my cell phone while I'm at the library hittin' the books. Also, when Comcast took over the Houston area, they significantly increased the picture quality. Can't wait to use it for the upcoming season. By the way, every Slingbox will only allow a single connection.
I guess I need to pay closer attention because I've seen highlights, but not the FULL GAME. I tried the SOPCast **** & wasn't happy with it. I've been on the fence & thinking of ordering NBA League Pass so I can watch on my TV.
i live in the austin area as well... my father has a sling box so i can watch the rockets games. i have a powerbook, cable modem and my quality really isn't that good. i get about 350 Kbps. when i'm at home on the same network, i get about 2000 Kbps (picture is almost perfect). does that sound about right? that's a big drop off.
IN every video thread I create, it has both a link to the highlights and the full game. All you gotta do is keep an eye out for any threads by me since I dont normally make threads unless Im posting links.
Mine is the same. My jaw dropped the first time I watched it away from home. Don't get me wrong, it's worth every penny, but man it's a difference for sure.
