I can't wait till the next update. They need to fix al ot of things

Ranking Glitch (I'm a Wingman with 2700 points)
    Stats Not Updating
    Freezing (All the time)
The amount of blue ranked servers is too little
The Joining Game Problem (takes me 15 minutes to join a game)

Yeah, I have The Show. As well as Rainbow Six Vegas and NBA 2k7. The Show is the only game I play regularly, I love it.

I got the game last night, although I didn't really get much of a chance to play it until today (and I didn't play an online game until 30 minutes ago or so). So far, I'm really liking this game. I first tried out an offline game so I could play around with the controls and get used to some of the vehicles. The visuals were better than I expected, although the controls will definitely take some getting used to. I wanted to try the motion sensing controls, but I'm just not feeling it right now. I think I would really prefer it if I could adjust to it, but that will take up too much time right now. Wish there were some tutorial missions to help adjust to it...getting flashbacks to the tutorial missions from the old X-Wing games right now (those would be great actually).

I definitely had a lot of fun when I played the game online. I still died a little more than I would have liked (more so in the second match I think, but that was partly because I was experimenting with some of the gameplay mechanics and controls), but that didn't really bother me as much as it did with Resistance. I was stuck playing in a server with Warhawks only, so I probably could have had more fun otherwise. The Warhawk still seems a little too advanced for me right now. I'd probably still be playing right now (and probably the rest of the night), but I need to finish up some homework. I'll probably play some more tomorrow or the next day.

Headset seemed to work fine for me. I could hear other people fine through it, although I don't think I actually said anything with it (still a little "shy" in that regard...besides, it was a DM, so there wasn't really much to say). I tried it with my cellphone and it worked well with it as well (voice quality was good on both ends).

My one complaint right now would probably be that they need some more (SCEA) ranked servers, like WhoMikeJames said. It took me a while to join a game (sometimes said they were full when the menu said it wasn't), although I was being somewhat picky. Guess this might be a good problem to have in a way, but I hope SCEA is quick on putting up some more servers.

it's a great game for what it is, a MP team-based one

as for flying the warhawks, I would just stick to dual analog...unless you really have some reason to fly with the sixaxis controls

as others have said, all they need to do is fix up server reliability and get the stat-tracking up 100%, and it would definitely be a keeper

    6 axis sucks.

I don't think the game is as deep or fun as Crimson Skies (the plane portion anyway) but it was still a great pickup.

RC, don't try and join games with only 2 spots open. you have to remember, MANY MANY others see the same 2 spots as you so a lot of people try to join at once. I would get into a game with 5 or so openings because they will fill up in no time.

    I disagree

but I've never really liked flying in MP-based shooter games anyway, so that's why I like Warhawk a lot better...there is a lot of stuff and fighting you can do on the ground, it's a full-fledged game

I meant in terms of the flying. The stages in CS were incredible especially the skyscrapper filled Chicago.

I didn't really have much of a choice, at least when it came to ranked (DM) games provided by SCEA (think they were only allowing 8 people total anyway actually). The few non-SCEA ranked games may have been a little better, but not by much. Guess I could have gone with a non-ranked game, but I didn't really want to at the time.

Regarding sixaxis controls, it is hard to describe, but I think if I could just adjust to it, I would be better off. When I tested it out, it seemed like I could aim and shoot better, and I think I could react quicker with my Warhawk movements. The problem was that I'm not really accurate with my maneuvers yet, and it will take up too much time to fix that (especially without any tutorial missions to help adjust to the new controls). Only thing I can think of relating this to would be changing your shooting form (or maybe your batting stance, but I never really played much of baseball).

*Add me if you have Madden08 or Resistance or WarHawk*

    darapture187

Man the game is great to me, I guess because I am pretty good at shooting games, I think it toke me maybe 3-4 games to fix the settings to my liking.. I won 2 out my next 6 games...I love the jungle level/islands.

Now as far as flying...I just got the hang of it last night...I can now fly where I want, but the locking system is still causing me a little trouble with the rocket launcher and the WarHawk, I swear I locked 3 missles on this guy, and 2 of them Hit him and he still didnt die, pissed me off, cuz someone shot him and got the kill...oh well....

Zones are really fun to....I like how you have to stand there 3-5 seconds to get the zone neutral and then another 3-5 seonds to turn it your teams color. Same with Capture the Flag, you have to stand near the flag for about 3-5 seconds before it returns to your base. It sucks you cant fly with the flag though...you can only run, drive tank or drive the jeep.....

As far as with Madden08, the pause glitch is out, and sore losers are using it, I have been hit with it 4 times now, and it almost makes me want to take the game back.

Is there a website that details the weapons pros and cons, buttons, icons, etc?

do you have the boxed retail version or the download version? if you don't have it, you can get a copy of a PDF manual from:

I noticed that this morning. Is there a complete list of new features? I don't notice anything different.

Some news about Film and TV downloads on the PS3. I decided against making a new thread since the article doesn't give a date or layout for the service.

The NBC Apple breakup was huge. I doubt Sony would have such strict regulations on content pricing like Itunes and considering how much money NBC made with Apple, I bet they would jump into bed with this service in a second.

I have no idea what the selection is like on Xbox live but if Sony could make ALL of the content in their subsidiaries available for download it seems like it would be a huge selling point for the system.

It also depends on who meant to do what in the NBC/Apple deal. Apple 'strict regulations' kept tv shows at like 2 or 3 bucks. NBC hasn't really said what exactly they want changed, while Apple tries to imply they want to charge more. NBC won't admit to that but it's hard to believe they are upset because they wanted to charge *less* than 2 bucks.

If NBC (and others) want to partner up with PS3 and XBOX and jack up the prices they won't necessarily make a big dent against something like iTunes' grip on the market.

I think it's a great game. Haven't been too successful flying the warhawks yet, but the ground combat is great. A lot of really intense battles where people are coming at you from all angles.

I think they fixed (or are trying to fix) the stats issue:
    http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=warhawk&message.id=92950#M92950
Sucks that it seems all stats gained during the week didn't count. I actually had a few nice matches that I somehow won.

The servers just went back online, although I'm not sure if the stats are working 100% yet. I think they're either updating instantly, or they're taking a few minutes to update based on what I read at other forums (too tired to play Warhawk at the moment to test it myself). Hopefully that is the case and they ironed out all the bugs.

Does anyone have some good tips that seem to work well? I'm doing OK (or playing really bad players at times), but I'd like to do better (possibly by using better tactics). I was thinking about experimenting more with mines, although I need to figure out where to stick them (probably on Warhawks or other vehicles...need to learn the maps a little better to find out good areas to hide them too). I also read that the sniper rifle can take out a Warhawk if you aim for the cockpit. Might try that in one of my next matches, whenever that is. Eventually, I should probably try something other than a deathmatch. :)
