You're old fashioned. Why have separate devices for everything? The ultimate goal should be to have all these features in one device and it still be a great/useful device when needed.
I'm in this mind set as well. I have a seperate ipod with all of my music on it. I keep a little on my iphone while on the run. It really is a good tool and has become even more handy with the app store.
As mentioned, the forums work fine but the front page will not, because it is Flash. Link directly to the forums and you can read everything here. 2.0 is a little more buggy but the ton of dropped calls isn't normal. Neither is the fast draining battery, though this could be tied to one of the apps if you've been downloading them. Otherwise that shouldn't be happening.
I think your problem exists in the settings of your email. you must ask the phone to show you emailes older than 1 week. I would love to know how you setup exchange on your phone I have access to the server ans tried everything with no luck.
threadtrolls make the eworld a lesser place. Well, maybe some people don't mind carrying a camera and a phone and an mp3 player and still not having internet access, but I personally find the iphone to be the most useful electronic device I've ever owned. I don't know what a t-mobile shadow is, but I bet you'd like the iphone better. Just guessing.
I can appreciate that should be a goal, but right now that area is on the leading (bleeding) edge. When people expect something now that is still over the horizon, it fails to make sense to me. If Apple was marketing this item as being completely ready for just about anything (software technology) used on the Internet, then it would be understandable when people ask for solutions like in this thread. If Flash and/or Silverlight were available for the iPhone, then it would likely be known and/or publicized by the party that went to the effort of making it happen.
I changed the settings to where my phone goes to sleep after 1 min of inactivity. Saves a lot of battery.
Flash (and Silverlight) are somewhat rare in a mobile phone browser, if I'm not mistaken. Not really sure what the eventual outcome/solution would be, but I'd like to see one reached at some point. However, just because that isn't the case doesn't mean that creating a more comprehensive mobile device 'fails to make sense'. The phone (and similar systems by Samsung, HTC, etc) are impressive and useful. I'd much rather have the abilities they offer currently rather than nothing simply because of Flash. EDIT: Unless, of course, you are saying that expecting these things right now 'fails to make sense', which is another point entirely.
Yes, that is what I am addressing. There was a recent thread in this Forum by somebody wanting to use an iPhone to get Internet media that was using Silverlight technology. To see this thread along similar lines to the earlier one shows that there is a problem, yet I don't understand why this problem even exists. If Apple or Adobe or Microsoft or some other company came out with software technology to enhance the Internet experience with the iPhone, then it would very likely be public knowledge. If I come across a web site (using a desktop or laptop) requiring a browser plugin to be downloaded, there is enough automation to point in the right direction to download & install the needed software. This casting about for it by iPhone users fails to make sense to me. If Apple had marketed it as Flash and/or Silverlight capable or if they had a friend with one using Flash and/or Silverlight, then I would have some understanding for these types of threads. By the time someone comes to this web site to start a new thread seeking knowledge about the existence of Flash and/or Silverlight for the iPhone, they could have done some research using their favorite search engine and found out that it doesn't exist at the moment. In regards to the future of Flash & Silverlight software for the iPhone, some stories suggest that the current iPhone would be taxed from a technology standpoint. Other stories cite differences between the various companies involved. Perhaps in the future it will happen on the next generation of iPhone.
