I don't play. But I have a good friend that works at a place or runs a game in Austin and when he works (usually 4-5 days a week) makes about $300-700 a night.

I go to Lake Charles about once a month to school them geezers in poker. I drive back and drop those $$$ with Jim Harden at Vivid.

Nice, yeah, I was at a game in Austin recently and they were definitely making some nice money for the dealers (off tips) and house was taking average rake. Pretty nice vs a home game since dealers were keeping things moving like a casino etc. + free food/drinks :)

I'm more of a cash player lately vs tournament... But will play tournaments (I just like 1-2+ nl better since I don't have to play for 10 hours and bust on the bubble). My friend I play with regularly made 200k from tournaments last year on some of the circuit .. So I'm definitely considering more tournaments (at least that's where the serious cash is). I mean $500-1k a night is nice but it's not like winning 189k in one tournament...

Used to be a vibrant poker scene in Houston about 10-12 years ago. The only one I know of now is clivestraddle's almost daily game. Houstontexaspoker.com used to be a great site.

I'll play if invited to a game and if the buy-in is high enough to be worth my time, and low enough for me to be able to afford to lose. It just takes entirely too long and I need the motivation that a high buy-in brings with it to stay patient and not try and force things.

My go to game for gambling is Dominoes. Requires skill as well as luck, and you can play multiple games in one night unlike poker.

I'm a casual player. I taught my fiance how to play, she enjoys the game now too! I wouldn't say I'm very good or anything, but I grew up watching WSOP and have gone to play poker rooms in Vegas and Lake Charles.

Love it. Consistently win at the 1-2-No limit tables at the casinos. Within the past year I got high hand prizes for a straight flush (in Reno) and a royal flush (in Lake Tahoe). Two guys went all in ahead of me when I got the Royal, so that was pretty great.

Been playing for about 14 years. I now live in Montana (where Casino's are legal) and play at them occasionally. When I lived in Houston (up to 2012) I played in a lot of underground rooms. I also have a friend who dealt cards in those rooms. He would routinely make $1,500 a night in tips.

I never played big stakes...$1/$2 no limit games...but the rooms I played in had big 20/40 or 100/200 games fairly routinely. I even saw Sam Farha a couple of times playing.

I miss the Houston rooms TBH...

I used to play online a lot and did decent. That is until they made the decent sites shut down for US players due to law changes (unless you did some workarounds)... I'm hoping that comes back, the one thing that spoiled me though was playing 3-4 tables at a time... don't get me wrong I love real poker, but seeing 3-4 hands at a time is great on the computer! Haha

Are you playing online? I know my last experience online with some site it wasn't easy to get money out like it was in the old days of party poker/PokerStars etc

Yeah, I'm still grinding tournaments, mostly on PokerStars. :) It's not the same as before though. USA was a really big chunk of the market that just went away...

Ah nice man! I'm definitely considering looking into it to try and get back on.. It was pretty nice being able to actually cash out on pp and ps. I know for awhile some sites here in the US were still operating but the cards coming out seemed way off, then I found out when you would cashout it'd come in the form of some furniture store check or something (acting like you returned merch). It was a mess, I wish they'd just tax it and let me play easy without needing offshore acct/vpn etc etc.

Have you tried multiple tables? I dunno I just loved getting to see so many hands and quick (it took me awhile to get used to 1 table again).

Have you won anything big on online tournaments?
