I would have done the same thing if I was in that clubhouse. Get your ass in the dugout! Good for them.

Yeah his absence/quiet the last couple weeks is conspicuous. Must be some bad blood somewhere.

Even if you have bad blood with the organization, you still support your teammates. I guarantee you none of the 26 guys in that locker room have done anything to offend JV. Guy looks like a total shithead right now.

That's why the lack of a simple tweet seems to say a lot. It's one thing to not be there in person to take away from the team, but to not send out a congratulatory tweet is ridiculous.

Or maybe he just doesn't tweet that often. He has 3 tweets in October, all positive and rooting for the Astros and players. None congratulating the team on series wins. Maybe he congratulations them by text. Or when he sees them. Or whatever else. People read too much into this stuff.

He was pretty active on instagram prior to the potential fallout. I still think they’ll try to bring him back on a QO (which was likely always the plan). I think he also would understand why a tight knit clubhouse like this would not necessarily cater to his presence after being apart from the team the whole year. I also didn’t have a problem with him choosing to perform his rehab away from the team.

It likely is exactly how it seems… and that’s not really reading that much into it.

So do we all still think Granato’s report was some sort of “radio guy” made up stunt?

Verlander is going back to Detroit. It’s crystal clear and his brother said as much during an interview at one point. We’ll get a nice consolation pick at least.

Like someone else said, give his money to Correa. We don't need him anyway.

If he hasn't been around the team, then he has made his choice......

He could have involved himself and helped the young pitchers, the fact that he did NOT do that is pretty telling.

Piss on him.....don't let the door knob hit ya where the good lord split ya.

His brother has been more active for the Astros. I like that guy.
In all honesty, I just miss Kate being at the playoff games.
Don't get me wrong, forever grateful for 2017 and 2019.

how could there be bad blood? Verlander has been paid 66 mil to pitch one game. How could he possibly be angry at the Astros?
