I don't know if it was knee issues or getting shot in the leg, but he lost some of his hops. I think he depended more on his athleticism than on technique.
Even though it's a 1year deal, he deserves all that money. Undersize for the position he plays, but never lacking in effort and hustle. Whether he'll be a Rockets again or not, im always going to be a fan of his. God i miss Mandry and Chuck as well /cry.
With that team, I can see Landry averaging 18+/7+ which will get him a nice contract. This contract makes sense for all parties involved.
Glass houses... HOU is better at PG and PF, but NOH is better at SG, SF, and C. We're deeper, and that depth makes us a better team, but both of us will probably be watching the playoffs on TV this year...
Makes sense for Landry. He get's PT in a place he was comfortable so he can land another deal later on while getting paid big bucks now. Hope he squirrels some of that money away.
While he did lose some hops, he still had more than enough to have been, frankly, the best and most efficient offensive player on the team before being traded to SAC-- he was close to leading the league in 4th quarter scoring rate at the time and had a .600 TS% (which, in part, has to do with the fact that he used his explosiveness around the rim to often finish with dunks). The explosiveness thing seems to hurt his rebounding and not anything else.
I don't think Carl ever lost any explosiveness... he was jumpin out the gym in that Lakers series... does anyone remember the throwdown over lamar odom?
