Its nothing dramatic....its a redone version of the current secondary logo, which will better matchup with there current retro-ish uniforms. The sole intent of this new logo is to further link the team with its "bad boy" past. Think of this new logo as a modern version of the roundball "bad boy" era logo the team had in the 80's and early 90's.

The logo was leaked by Eastbay, which is already advertising the 2005 Draft day caps. You guys might remember them as they also leaked the Rockets uniforms as well.

To better display the difference I will post both the old and new. You will see the difference, i.e. white and blue piping trim around logo, no more silver, "Detroit" added etc....

    The old secondary.....

I can confirm that the new PISTONS logo and new PACERS logo and uniforms will launch at the NBA Draft on June 28th.

Those photoshopped pics that were posted in the first couple of posts were originally posted on Niketalk, I believe...and they were simply just the work of some dude who decided to mess around and post some POSSIBLE alternates...but none are for sure yet, particularly regarding us, although the black unis are

I seriously want the Rockets to consider re-introducing yellow (or a shade of it or gold even) as an accent color in the next redesign for a secondary logo.

I personally have a conceptual vision as to what I would like a new logo to look like and I keep meaning to do a quick photoshop of it (but that won't happen for another few weeks until I can get to my normal computer). Basically my idea of a new logo would incorprate the current dRacula one with the classic one of the past (pre-dildo).

I'd rather just make a sample rather than giving any details (not like this is a secret or anything) because plagiarism's a b****. I mean it's something that the franchise probably considered and I'm flummoxed (that's right, I just used the word flummoxed!) as to why the logo is what it is.

I'll bookmark this an post a crappy PS image in a couple weeks.

Basically with a new logo and (wishfully) an added color (yellow because I haven't warmed up to a black uni), it would pave the way for an (wishfully) updated CHAMPIONSHIP DAYS jersey that proudly screams HOUSTON.

I would see it as (wishfully) different font than the chicken scratch on the current ones (not saying it's bad) and number style, (wishfully) Dazzle-less, perhaps swingman-style, and a single, slimmer, higher-up yellow side-band. So basically it would closely resemble the old skool ones, but would be crisper...like what Seattle has done (although I liked their last jerseys).

    Developing...

They should go with the Black Unis for the entire season. Home and Away!

I have both of these , the black on black ones are really nice . I think they would have to outline the letters in red though , so that the numbers and names would be visible .

I would definitely buy that black jersey very quick if it was released. I hope the Rockets play in that - really nice.

    I came across a list of NBA jersey changes;

    Boston Celtics (alternate uniform)
    Cleveland Cavaliers (alternate uniform)
    Denver Nuggets (alternate uniform)
Detroit Pistons (new logos, alternate uniform)
Indiana Pacers (new logo and uniforms)
    Orlando Magic (alternate uniform)
Portland Trail Blazers (road wordmark change)
    Sacramento Kings (new alternate uniform)

I guess we're not getting an alternate this year?

I remember someone in the know posted here saying it would be the year after the All Star game. I don't remember the details.

Edit: I guess it was this thread I read it in.

Where did you hear this? I thought teams were only allowed to wear their throwbacks every other year.
