Rovers are IMO the roughest rides out there. If you're LOOKING for a luxury SUV, go with the Rover. If you want to FEEL luxury, go with the Escalade.
My brother has an Escalade and I really don't like the ride. It feels too big and hefty, and not very smooth. Its also wider and harder to park and not as mobile or quick. BTW I bought the Range Rover Yesterday and absolutely LOVE it. It feels like i'm driving a coupe/sedan with a sport suspension. It is Dark Blue/Tan and is a huge contrast to my Mercedes SLK (which i'm temporarily keeping!, but if anyone wants one email me!) and thats also why i didn't get the porsche.
If anyone is seriously considering getting the Porsche Cayenne, they should get their head examined. That is the ugliest high end SUV ever made.
I'd give that award to the Mercedes Benz G-class SUV. Ugliest vehicle to cost over $70,000. Hell, maybe over $20,000 if not for the Pontiac Aztek.
Actually it was between the Rover and a 911 4S or Turbo if I could've gotten a good deal. Those Cayenne's are pretty ugly but the new Porsche Panamera is supposed to be out next year or so and will resemble the CLS 500 4-door coupe/ Maserati Quattroporte design.
WHAT?? I think they look like the old school Toyota Land Cruisers.. IMO those are some of the best looking and performing SUVs (ORVs) EVER! Like they say “everything old is new again”.
I just read about these a week or two ago in a car mag. Very nice looking from what I saw. If you had told Porsche fanatics 10 years ago they'd have a 4 door car and an SUV, they would've dropped dead.
I drove a G-500 and though the looks may be up for discussion, the drive is absolutely horrible. The G-500 ,aside from the interior and engine, is the same car from 20 years ago and it drives like that. Truly one of the worst driving cars i've ever been in. They are changing the body style and actually re-doing their G class for 2006 though. I really love the ride and feel of the range rover. Its just a very smooth ride and its got a bit of a punch if you hit the gas. It seems to have a sportier suspension and is not as 'heavy' feeling as a Navigator/Escalade. It really feels like i'm driving a sport sedan.
