By good places I mean sights like romance stuff and the pretty part of North Carolina since I hear it was pretty there and also good restaurants. I'll be heading there for vacation in 3 weeks mainly near the chapel hill

    Thanks

Go check out Asheville. It is really nice. I used to live in Charlotte and absolutely loved it.

The Biltmore is really cool and if you google Asheville, you'll see all kinds of stuff to do.

Asheville is Gorgeous..the drive there from Charlotte is awesome too.. Find a nice B&B in the hills, and definitely take her to the Biltmore. Theres a cute little beach on a lake at the top of one big hill..don't know exactly where though. check out

    http://www.tripadvisor.com

search for Asheville & check out all the reviews of locations, B&B's hotels etc.

    have fun

Asheville and the surrounding area. There are some nice hikes and creeks and outdoor/nature spots that are killer.

Take a drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Smokey Mountains. It's a great national park. In Chapel Hill, check out Spice Street and Top of the Hill.

Cameron Indoor Stadium is only 8 miles from Chapel Hill!

Asheville is a gorgeous place but is 4+ hours from Chapel Hill. The Biltmore Estate is fantastic. Blue Ridge Parkway is gorgeous. Top of the Hill is a great restaurant; my son used to wait tables there.

What kind of things would your wife consider "romantic?"

The Outer Banks area is great, too...if you're looking to go to the beach.

Asheville itself is not all that, but the area is beautiful. Biltmore house is a must as taking the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you can swing it, stay at the Grove Park Inn for a night. Look for anything in the range of an hour north and west of Asheville. Catch Mt Mitchell and the surrounding areas. Lots of beautiful waterfalls and rivers if you can get some proper research in. I prefer the Smokies over the Blue Ridge.

Its a treat to step out on my back porch and view the beautiful blue ridge mountains.
