    UPDATE:

Lost all the Houston vs. Dallas tix I bid on... no biggie, game stunk for a Texans' fan anyway...

Did get two tix to Dallas vs. Oakland on 28th for, get this $20!

Better game anyway, for sure. Maybe I'll have pics to share.;)

Weird I was just trying to get advice from a friend on all of this bidding stuff. My first auction I hope i'm a big "winner"... :)

edit: What happens if you bid on something and the reserve isn't met? I'm assuming that means you just don't get-- is there a way to find out the reserve price?

That is correct although on eBay's site they will say that the "seller is not obligated to sell the item if the reserve price is not met."

There is no way to find out the reserve price other than if the seller says in the auction ad that it is a "percentage of something"...

If you really want something and are willing to go to the reserve price, you can always keep entering bids at certain increments until the reserve is met.

I just won 4 tickets to see my Titans take on the Texans at Reliant Stadium in December.

    THANK YOU eBAY!

You mean you won 4 tickets to watch the titans humiliate the Texans. Go Titans!

Great advice guys I "won", but unfortunately didn't meet the reserve which is probably for the best. I would bet I could buy it online somewhere else for about the same price. I must admit it was exciting in that last 5 minutes or so, because people were bidding up a storm.

On another note... I have more than likely developed yet another addiction :D

Have a set price and be patient. That's the best ebay tip someone can give you. Unless it's a one of a kind item that you have to have - ebay is so big there will be another along soon.

I am getting some weird ass emails from ebay and paypal lately. Got an automated email from paypal stating that "logos have inserted in my auctions." Thats fine and dandy, but I haven't started any auctions. I checked my id and no auctions were running.

And just right now I received an email from safeharbor (ebay's security dept?) telling me to insert my used id and password into the email for security reasons.

Obviously not. Did look completely professional though. You can tell they tried hard.
