As of now we are in the 8th and final slot for the playoffs. We lead the lakers by 3 games. Does anyone feel its a foregone conclusion that stern and co. will do whatever they cando get kobe, dwight, and nash into our detriment? How hard would it be for the league to instruct the officials to swallow their whistles when harden drives at crucial times to impact 3 or 4 possible wins for us? Am i crazy or does anyone else see this coming?
Again. Look at Utah. If I am Stern and I am 'fixing' games to make sure a team wins and gets into the playoffs I am looking at Utah. Houston has been one of the more exciting teams to watch the entire year (you even have guys on ESPN now saying they'd like to see them in a series) has Lin & Harden. If I'm Stern then I'd just drop Utah down.
judging by the refs the last 2 games for houston i wouldn't be surprised if he has his refs hinder utah, houston and golden state
The lakers making the playoffs and possibly winning a chip after losing their beloved owner? A tribute to that owner and Kobes 6th to put him next to the great MJ? Psh, who would like that story... The nba, where marketing happens.
The Lakers have won 10 of their last 14. They're getting in. It's just a question of whether GS, Utah, or Houston gets knocked out.
I really don't think it's a given. they have also won 10 out of their last 18 if you want to look at their inconsistency. but this is about whether Stern will fix it so, to which I do not believe...
No. Harden's emergence is bringing into light another superstar the NBA really needed. Now that these guys are all joining forces, some aren't putting up big numbers. Harden is making the NBA a ton of money, especially as a Rocket.
Lakers may be on a little streak, but in there last 25% of games they are beating a SOS of .491 by .67 points. Meaning they are barely beating below average teams. By the same regard the Rockets are beating a SOS of .526 by 8.27 points. Like has been stated earlier in this thread if the Lakers make the playoffs it will not be at the expense of the Rockets.
not only last night's game, but the one @SAC was heavily officiated against houston in the 4thQ as well
