you don't know how to read the law. IT IS A DEFENSE TO PROSECUTION means that if the kind of gambling you do meets those conditions (it's private, econ gain is winnings-based, equal playing field when not considering skill or luck), you are not subject to criminal prosecution. try some reading comprehension before you copy and paste things you don't understand
Cool, thanks for being an *******. Also, I am pretty sure I interpreted the law correctly. Private games at your home are legal since you aren't advertising it like a casino. Obviously it'd be a cash game with buy ins, there are no house advantages in Hold em so all the odds are equal. Law states that as long as there is no disadvantage to players and that the only benefit is the winnings, there are no problems with private home poker games in Texas. If I am indeed unable to read the law, then please show me where my misunderstanding is so that I can comprehend. Thanks

A buddy and I hold a no-rake Hold'em game with $0.25/$0.50 blinds, table stakes, in Clear Lake twice a month. The second Saturday (next will be April 13th) and the following Friday (April 19th) every month. Email your number through the board and I can add you to the reminder list. We are also considering doing some tournaments on Saturday afternoons if we can get enough interest.
