The funny thing about Chicago deep dish is that it's only the tourists that really eat.

    Deep dish is dead.

Giordano's screwed up due to real estate issues from what I read. It'd be funny if deep dish pizza was a fad. "omg the pizza is too thick! We Chicagoans decree deep dish is no longer cool after decades of popularity! Please get the word out!"

Back in January, we had a get-together/pizza party at work where the guy who threw it made the pizza. Another guy b****ed about how the only place he loved pizza was at Giordano's so we flew pizzas from Giordano's in. I used to be one of those guys that said pizza is pizza and couldn't care less where you got it from, but this pizza is probably the best I ever had. Oh, and btw, the guy who said he'd only eat from there is a Chicago native, so he must've not gotten the memo about deep dish being "out". Lol. I saw the blurb about Giordano's filing for bankruptcy last week and showed him. He nearly had a heart attack. I don't believe they're shutting down, though.

If somebody opened a good deep dish pizza joint in houston they'd make a killing.

Not only are there are a ton of midwestern transplants here, but our natives love to gorge themselves.
