I have a cheap Toro cordless that I bought about 5 years ago (less than $45) and it's still working fine. It's heavy but I don't mind the workout. Changing the spool isn't too difficult either. I'm sure it's not as powerful as a gas trimmer but I don't have to deal with struggling to start it, buying gas, mixing oil, the loud noise, and the exhaust. I use it to trim the grass along the fence line and house. It's not good for edging the lawn near the driveway/sidewalk.
I'll have to look when I get home. I didn't purchase it, it was a gift. It's the 2 in 1 model with the head that flips over to work as a push edger on wheels. It's rechargeable (obviously) but I'm not sure what the voltage is.
