"Jo mama", there is a difference between God making people, and sin causing the problems people have. Let's say that someone has a genetic disorder. The reason is the result of sin. Not that the person's sin caused the disorder, but that sin and its effects have affected God's original plan. Through Christ, creation is restored. The full restoration will not happen until Christ's return.

Another anti-gay pastor is going to picket the funeral for the West Virginia miners.

Phelps claims: "Judgment in West Virginia! Thank God for His Outpoured Wrath and for 12 Dead Miners." See press release

That is wrong. Obviously those people are not following Christian teaching.

Yeah, Phelp's church is 100% shunned by every Christian I know.

Phelps call the candle light vigils for the miners a gathering of "Idolatrous caterwauling necromancers."

Death is the result of people not being able to live any longer. Seperation from God is the result of sin.

I am a Christian and I believe the Bible but I think that A LOT of it is taken way too literally. Just my .02

So his entire church should be shunned? Please. This is what is wrong with RELIGION in the United States. Most so-called "Christians" are way too judgemental.

The reason I do not care to attend church anymore is because of this arrogance. People are not allowed to speak openly of their vices without being judged by others and I think it is a shame.

I do not agree with you totally. (The wages of sin is death. Separation from is a result sin.)

    Wages = Result

This is an incomplete sentence and makes zero sense.

I've read the Bible and I know Romans 6:23. It may say that the wages/result of sin is death but in reality the wages/result of sin is seperation from God if you do not believe in Christ (according to the Bible).

No offense, but everyone says that. I've never had anyone say, "My church really sucks and you wouldn't like it. You might wanna try the Methodist down the street instead."

I'm sorry (I wanted to edit-I forgot a word or two) I meant to say is that separation from God is the result of sin. I just didn't agree with the statement that we die just because of old age. That's all

You are against Christians showing moral outrage towards a guy who distorts Christianity for his own sick purposes?

Phelps is the head of that "church," and most members of his little church (made up primarily of his relatives) participate and supports Phelps in his sick little demonstrations.

So yes, I applaud the other Christians stepping forward to criticize this guy.

Perhaps I understood it wrong. I thought it was stated that the Pastors old church was being shunned due to his screw up.

You still didn't narrow it down for me.

Physical death (to a Christian) is not seperation from God. Its actually the beginning of our new eternal life with Him.

Everyone dies. Its a fact of life. I do not think that it has anything to do with your or my sin. Its the natural process.

That being said, I do not think that the Bible is speaking of a physical death in that particular scripture but of a spiritual one. What kind of life is there without God? As I said before, I think much of the Bible is taken too literally.

I didnt think you were being a smartass and I'm not either. Just having friendly debate. Questioning things is how I grow and learn sometimes.
