roslolian, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I think you are off the deep end about Morrow. He isn't nearly as good as you think he is. Comparing him to K-Mart is totally crazy. You cannot compare an off-the-ball spot-up shooter to a feature offensive player when it comes to efficiency. With a guy like Morrow, giving him the ball and asking him to create on a regular basis is a recipe for disaster. He is a very limited player on offense. 8-9 shots per game is all he can handle.

On a decent team, he won't get 31 mins a game. 15, 20, 25 minutes is what fits Morrow depending on the circumstances.

    I love this post.!!!

Morrow has been ONE of the MOST under-the-radar players the league has ever seen. Can you believe this guy was undrafted???? thats some incredible stuff. You don't become undrafted and then lead the league in 3 point field goal percentage as a rookie unless you're ray allen type shooter.

I love that trade, but I'd keep Kevin Martin off the trade.

Perhaps something like Scola + Hill + Battier + Brooks + 2011 Pick for Favors + Morrow?

We'd only have Kyle Lowry, Kevin Martin, Courtney Lee, Anthony Morrow, Patrick Patterson, Terrence Williams on the books in 2012. That's about 25 million on the books and should be about 25 million to spend.

however, comparing him to Kevin Martin is kind of ridiculous. Kevin Martin gets to the free-throw line at a unconscious rate and they do not have a similar game. Morrow is very much a spot-up shooter while Kevin's game is much more balanced and Kevin plays without a dominant big man.

If my player is shooting 44% from the three and isn't an offensive dunce like Steve Novak I would be an absolute moron if I only played him 15 minutes a game. Having a decent team with an all star who drew double teams makes a lights out shooter like Morrow even more valuable, as he can play off of your star. His lack of ball handling skills isn't really a big problem, just run screens, screen-fades, pick-and-pops, double screens, curls and other similar plays to get him open, nobody's saying more touches means he actually has to create plays for everyone. The only shots he would need to create is his own.

When limited 3-point specialists like Morrow and Booby Gibson get too many minutes, it usually means they are on bottom-feeder teams.

Question: Do you at least agree that bringing up Kevin Martin in this discussion was nonsense? Morrow is not a starting caliber SG on a contender. If you believe other-wise, oh well.

Kris Humphries is the most under appreciated player on the Nets roster. He is their Chuck Hayes, but with a significant amount of athleticism. He is averaging 9.3 rebounds per game in 25 minutes, which makes him third in the league in rebounds per 40 minutes (behind Kevin Love and DHoward) with 17.5.

I thought the most underrated trade of 2010 was clearly Lebron James for draft picks and a TE.

He may be underrated, but he is definitely overrated in this thread. From what I've seen, he isn't a winning piece to a puzzle. More of a Flip Murray than a Rip Hamilton.

In the correct role, I definitely believe Morrow can be a winning piece.

Example: Put him on the Thunder and they win 5-6 more games this season and might get the #2 seed in the West. He would be a perfect backup SG.

definitely under-appreciated but that is where the comparisons to Chuck end...Dude is a career garbage player, one amazing year where doubles or more than doubles nearly ALL his stats says more about the system than the player

Gibson's 6'2 and is an undersized shooting guard. Morrow is legitimately 6'5. Undersized shooting guards suck because not only are they horrible on D, they tend to fade when the defense gets tough (as we could see in Luther Head). Morrow has more than enough height to comfortably get his shot off, and if he played under a good defensive minded coach he would be able to play acceptable defense with his height.

The nets aren't contenders so I don't see why he can't get more touches or featured more in their offense. He is their most efficient scorer, he should get more shots until his %s start dipping. Even on a team like say Orlando or Chicago with established superstars who draw double teams and could create for him he would be extremely deadly with his accuracy. For 4M a year that's a great deal, which is the whole point of this thread.
