Not only that, the Don Nelson doghouse is like a carousel. One day Morrow is in there, next day its Randolph, next day its Wright, bla bla bla. They had 47 different starting lineups last year. How do you expect to build team chemistry with that? And the only player remotely close to being a true PG on that roster is Acie Law.
He's a free agent next year. Morey should go for it, his shooting would work really well for our system. And yeah it seems like don nelson is trying to run his team like he's playing fantasy basketball or something.
Golden State is going with young players. Rockets should make a move for Stephen Jackson. Give them Battier for SJ. Jackson has 4 yrs left on his deal while Battier's contract expires in 2 years and he can be a good influence on the young guys with his hustle, d, hard work, etc... Plus, the Warriors would be saving money as Battier's yearly salary is less than Jackson's.
Yeah it didn't make much sense to draft Curry to me either. Azubuike can ball too. Don Nelson was quoted saying at the end of last season that he will start to focus on defense more. Hopefully things will change around.
The amount of potentially very good young players GS has is scary.
All of these young players have proven to have significant offensive potential: Kelenna Azubuike Marco Belinelli Stephen Curry Anthony Morrow Anthony Randolph Brandon Wright
Too bad these potential studs are stuck in GS where they seem to be perpetually stuck floating around Nellie's dog house...
What they should have done is stuck to there word, and traded Curry in the Amare' deal. With a little more experience for Randolph I'd shudder to go against a team with him at the 5, and Amare' at the 4 surrounded by all those other shooters. Talk about an athletic runnin', gunnin', and shootin' team. They could have been a better version of the Sun's teams of a couple years ago.
Morrow helped carry the squad when Ellis, Jackson and Maggette went down late in the season. He can ball, I think they have a bright future with him and Randolph but Nellie still has to start playing D for that team to win.
Man one star PG and Golden State will be firing in all cylinders. They are one true PG away from the playoffs. Baron Davis, Andre Miller, Steve Nash. = Will make the Warriors explode
Good offensive team but where is the defense? Save for Randolph, the rest seem to be one dimensional. More of offense then defense.
Bingo. It Doesn make sense that a team with that much talent should not be in the playoffs. If management comes to its senses and get rid of Nellie they are gonna be a force in the West for years.
uhh...yeah, The Warriors' perceived talent has a direct correlation to their style of play. Their players just aren't that good. Sure, many of them can shoot and run but there is much more to basketball than that. Of course you're going to have a lot of scoring if you throw 4 wings on the court. The opposing team's big guys won't be able to keep up. But, they get steamrolled on the boards and have no defense for even decent post players. I can't see why so many fans consider this style "fun" to watch. It's repulsive to me.
Blame Nellie. He's the one who shaped their roster and style of play. It's a joke and a recipe for mediocrity. The is no excuse for their roster to be unbalanced. For me, Warriors home games are very fun to watch because of the crowd and how the players feed off the crowd.
