What are those picks worth if Harden frequently leads this team to 50+ wins by himself? Another story if New Orleans are seeing both CP3 and Harden declining at the same time but won't happen.
Clint, eg, or Tucker, and 4 first round picks. I'd do that easily for a hall of fame player. Having 2 hall of fame players will probably out do gsw. Imagine AD with harden and cp3 omg.
Other teams can easily top that offer. Minnesota wasn't even interested in those late first round picks. IMO it's gonna be a bidding war between the Lakers and Celtics.
Show me an asset package from the Rockets that is better than what the Lakers can offer now and better than what the Celtics can offer in the Summer. And whoever ends up getting the #1 pick in the draft (Zion). What are we talking about here on the Rockets side. Capela+Gordon+4 First round picks?
Absolutely no way Murrhey doesn't give it a shot. Dorell's like that guy at the nightclub who doesn't stand a shot at the really hot chick, but hits on her anyway, every time, without fail. And we all know that once in a blue moon, that guy actually does score, against all odds and for reasons that don't make sense to anyone. Let's just hope A.D. is that chick.
I like the idea of sending 7 1sts to Nola - imagine the headlines and watching all the talking heads explode on ESPN.
What about the sup Capela > BI,Kuz,Ball You can make a case Capela has been better this year than Tatum, and has with his contract might better asset than Tatum. Capela's agen't screwed up, but that that make Cap a great contract for the rockets.
I have to believe that Capela is a wildly attractive trade asset. Great contract which will only look better and better as it ages and he hits his prime. If you are forced to trade AD, who is the best big man in the game today, I don't know what player you can bring back that is a better combination of value + ability + upside than Capela outside of Giannis (who the Bucks aren't trading).
Since we speculatin' Lakers get: Chris Paul Pelicans get: Ingram, Capela, Lakers pick Rockets get: Davis, Lonzo
Even that we won't have a chance. Think about George and Kawhi, they demanded to be traded to the lakers and threatened other potential bidders that they wouldn't resign. It didn't work even though they had only 1 year contract left. AD has two more years in his current contract.
I think Boston still might be forced to include Tatum here, personally i don't find that great a package like Brown, Sac 1st, Grizzlies 1st and whatever salary filler they're going to offer...i think 4 picks (with a couple of them possibly unprotected) by an old team like Houston, plus Capela and Gordon (or a good pick out of him) might be a better offer. Lakers players are not that exciting either for me, they're good but i don't see a single player you can build around between Ingram, Kuzma and Lonzo honestly...if they're willing to add multiple picks like us well, they suddenly get the edge obviously, but even then, if i'm NOLA, i at least listen to Houston, Rockets picks have more upside, Paul is injury prone, Lebron is not, and the Lakers have a better chance than the Rockets to stay at the top going forward by adding a top free agent etc... Capela at 24 is probably a very good piece too, possibly underrated here...great role player if not a borderline all star which fits perfectly in today's game, locked on a 17M per year contract through 2023 when the cap will be probably over 120M well, that's probably great value, especially for a franchise which is losing players in free agency from years. Last big trades also shown that small market teams were more interested in getting proven players rather then picks, just something to consider maybe. NOLA could actually tank a year, draft a wing player and pair that with Capela, Mirotic/Randle, Holiday and Payton, and they might be good to go again instead of going into a full rebuild around projects with uncertain upside like Ingram and Lonzo. Obviously it depends on what ownership wants, maybe they will go into a full rebuild, personally i think they should, but who knows...
