Collectively they are worth more than him though which is what matters, I guess.

every player in the league knows Rockets have two big holes on this team impeding championship aspirations.

    BK and CP3's hamstring

Why does it even matter? Morey will trade for him regardless of if he wants to resign at all. Cuz if we think he’s gonna leave we can trade him next year.

Why don't you think they would take on his contract if so many people say it was worth paying him that much for his skill and his leadership? I never liked the contract myself, and think it is far too much for all the games he misses for injuries. So, did Morey screw up royally or was he a genius signing CP3 for 200 million for half a decade?

Now I believe the Rockets won't offer anything for AD. It appears Morey isn't even interested in AD.

Timing. The narrative then was we were a good CP hamstring away from winning it all. Tilman gave the directive to sign him at all costs.

Fastward today, he is declining and we are winning despite his absence. That really speaks to his value. Don’t get me wrong, he will be an awesome piece if he is at MLE. There will be suitors lining up for the top 3 greatest guard ever playe at that price even at that age. Just not 40M.

Morey definitely called the Pelicans, it's literally his job to do that, but reality is that what's very possible, is that the Pelicans have no interest in what we can offer.

I feel Ball is the best player out of their young core. He can pass, defend, rebound, play making, and starting to become a decent shooter. Much higher ceiling than the other two.

We haven't heard any kind of news that the Rockets even offered anything for AD though there are still 3 days left.

That doesn't mean we didn't ask the Pelicans about Davis, how can you even think we didn't? I mean, come on bro, we're talking about Anthony Davis being available...pretty sure most of the teams called NOLA but not everything comes out, and you know the focus of the media is obviously on the Lakers and the same teams they love to ride (Boston, L.A, NY...). Tbf, they talked about the Bucks too, but they probably just got used in this case.

How does BK affect anything other than cap space? He wouldn't make the rotation in the playoffs even if he was healthy.

Who will improve their team? Ingram Lonzo and Kuzma will bring more wins than AD?
    LOL

But the more desperate the Lakers get the better it is for the Rockets.
Let them sell everything they have. 4 1st rounders, have Solomon Hill's albatross contract instead of capspace, and add Hart and Zubac and everything valuable.
What could they do then when they will have no avenue to improve their team?
    AD + 36 y.o Lebron + buyout ringchacers isn't a championship team.

I’m not personally wild about any of the three key pieces in that Lakers package (Kuz/Ball/Ingram), but I have a hard time envisioning NO getting a better return than that mega package the Lakers are offering.

Besides, it’s not like Danny Ainge is known for his genorosity in trade talks.

You’re right that the Pelicans may not get a better offer. However, there’s no reason for them to rush when they can get comparable offers this offseason.

Yes and no. You play this out, you might get better offers. You’re also prolonging the inevitable, though. I guess NO having nothing to play for mitigates the risk of allowing this situation to persist. I’m sure they’re in no hurry to send the best player in franchise history packing....even if his bags are already packed.

While it is delaying the inevitable, teams will still line up in droves this summer to acquire Davis for a year and hope they can convince him to stay. There’s no reason for the Pelicans to rush into a deal with the Lakers now. Boston will be a player this summer, and if the Knicks get Williamson or Barrett in the draft, they will be, too.
