He's also a young human being who is trying to prove himself in his field. Short of the Rockets and Cavs meeting in the NBA Finals, Cleveland having a superstar is nothing to concern ourselves with. I just hope he does well enough that teams will want him, CLE included. He didn't ask to be the #1 pick - I blame Cleveland's inept FO.
Guess who has decided to finally look like a top 10 pick at least??? 1st double-double i believe. 19-10. Welcome to the NBA young'n.
Nice to see Bennett playing well given how much he's struggled this season. I don't think he should have been the number-one overall pick- and I didn't at the time he was selected- but that's hardly his fault. He was part of a weak selection pool and was chosen by a Cleveland front-office in dire need of an overhaul. He has legitimate basketball ability and may develop into a better player in the right environment- though my suspicion is that said environment is not Cleveland. --Captain Decker
When Zach Randolph returned from a serious injury he blew up like a blimp just like Bennett and instead of rising like one unsurprisingly his game came crashing down. I'm curious to see how Bennett goes if he can start of a season without any setbacks.
Good for Bennett. I don't feel sorry for anyone who gets millions to do what they love, but I get no joy out of seeing good people struggle like he has. Still don't think he'll ever be too good, but if he's able to get in better shape and develop a good shot, he could have a long career.
If he can give good rebounding and some defense, I would be okay with giving him a 10 day contract. If he is too heavy and lazy, he can be cut easily.
His form and release is fantastic. Doubt he can hit that shot in the real league though...that said, it would suck if another team takes a flyer on him and he actually turns out to be a solid player...
Damn he really does have a nice quick shot. Does he rebound or play defense? Hard to tell with G league numbers.
Just a heads up on those Gleague numbers: Bennett is averaging 13 and 5 in the Gleague on 20 minuts per game. This per36 crap makes him seem awesome, but it is much easier to come off the bench and volume produce in limited minutes. And quoting his 3pt % on attempts per36 as if to say it is impresive he is shooting such a high number on a karge number of shots.... uh. No. He isnt attempting 8 per game!!! Lets see if he can become a Glreague starter before getting too excited!!!
