ok, i can accept that. but i don't think it should warrant you to question my character.

 

Different kinds of people have different character. If I thought you were of a certain character, and made a statement to lead me to believe otherwise, I will be questioning your character. What's so hard to see in that?

the problem is that everyone is a different kind of person. who are you to say you are morally superior to anyone else? posters are commenting on the absurdity of the situation in different ways. you come off like a moral fascist and i think your character could be questioned in this regard. i think the dude who did this is a scumbag, he deserves whatever he gets, however, please ease up on the character assaults.

 

what's so hard is you call us "pathetic souls" just b/c we made jokes about this...meaning you consider us the lowest of the low. in actuality, i think many posters on this board are far from that. sure, there are probably some rapists and molestors among us , but to condemn everyone who made a comment in jest b/c of this situation is ludicrous.

as for myself, i think i'm a person of high moral values and great character. the fact taht i make/laugh at the jokes in this thread doesn't really change that.

Falcons Talon has spent more time questioning the character of those in this thread that wanted to inject a little humor into an unfortunate situation than he has chastizing the person that brought the unfortunate situation about. I question his character.

 

You guys can question my character all you'd like. Your opinion does not matter to me. You want to laugh at a situation where a child gets injured, laugh to your little hearts content, but don't act all hurt and surprised when you're called out on it.

Why would I chastize the person that did this when he's not here? He's being dealt with.

Macalu, can you get any of your references or assumptions correct? The "pathetic souls" I was referring to were professional comedians. What's that, 0-3.

So I'm touchy and too sensitive for being upset by people making a joke about infants being injured, but you get touchy and sensitive for an "assault" on your character. Wow. Some people can dish it out but sure can't take it.

Just go find someone making a joke about another injured child. That should make you feel better.

I probably shouldn't perpetuate the little melodrama that's going on here - but anyway, get over it. The only reason why this was posted, or was news in the first place, was because of the morbid curiosity factor of it all and sell newspapers/magazines/ or generate internet clicks, which is just as ghoulish if not more so. You're perpetuating that just by reading it.

There are children dying in less-newsworthy ways around the world right this second. Honestly, if condemning the people who do harm to children in solemn ways is the point of this forum, perhaps we need a sub-forum for that or something. Otherwise posting it in a place with light-hearted discussion is going to get some jokes and you should deal with it without flipping out.

 

Sorry Sam. It's obvious that people deal with different things in different ways. If people choose to deal with a situation like this by joking, I will choose to deal with their jokes as I see fit.

i never questioned your character. all i was saying that it's not fair for you to judge our character because of these jokes. on the contrary, i'm not angry about your "assault" on my character. i'm been discussing the matter as maturely as possible. as a matter of fact, i've written that i understood why'd you'd be upset.

and if professional comedians are "pathetic souls" b/c they make such jokes, it would be correct to infer that you consider us "pathetic souls" too b/c we made such jokes. my point was we all make jokes, at one time or another, about a situation taht someone else would find no humor in. it doesn't make us bad people.
