I'm going this weekend. I'm staying on the strip, but I know the best odds gambling are downtown. What casinos have the best Blackjack odds? I'm mainly interested in 5 and 10 dollar tables, and especially places that still shuffle by hand and/or use a low numbr of decks. The wife likes slots, so who has the loosest slots? Who has the best breakfast buffet? dinner? And I need to find a nice Italian place for dinner one night. I'm looking for answers from those in the know..not people whose cousin's friend's boyfriend's uncle won $100 playing at the MGM.
Well good, because my cousin's friend's boyfriend's aunt won $100 at the grand... slots are for chumps, unless you just want to burn a few hours at the quarter or nickle slots. If the casino is having a bad night at the tables, they'll just re-program the slot machines to give out less money.
If you actually think you can beat the house and win a lot, don't be crying here next week when you are broke.
Oh I don't plan on winning anything. Gambling is a form of entertainment, andI fully expect to part with every dime I take. I just want to lose the money as slowly as possible so I can milk free drinks all night long. I don't play slots, so don't preach to the choir.
Black Jack is pretty close to even money, in most Casinos you get the advantage of knowing what the dealers would do on small bet tables. I think they pretty much all use the same rule.
Jesus, I know how to play blackjack and about the odds. I'm not asking for basics of the game...just the downtown casinos that shuffle by hand and/or use low amount of decks. If you can't asnwer my questions, don't post. It's that simple. -the prick
I try not to venture down amongst the commoners (gasp!) that frequent Freemont street downtown, but I have played a hand shuffled game of blackjack at the 4 Queens. The dealer was awful and kept screwing up when she delt. I loudly yelled MISDEAL when she would do this. My screaming didn't help matters, unfortunately.
Plaza downtown is generally considered to have some of the best rules in town on Blackjack. Double Deck Dealer stands on ALL 17s Double on Anything Can resplit Aces up to four times BTW, I'm sure you know to stay away from 6:5 blackjack, even if it is single deck. The 6:5 odds do something like increase the house edge 7 to 8 times.
We were just there and MGM usually pretty good as far as winning, but it depends, right... We had the most success at Bellagio and NY, NY at the craps tables...As for buffet, you have to go to the Rio, as its suppose to be the largest buffet in the world...I woulk also try ESPNZone...Great atmosphere and the food is pretty good...
Dont expect to see any $5 or $10 tables on the strip. Sahara (near the stratosphere) may still have $1 blackjack from time to time, but your best bet is to head downtown to Freemont and check out the casinos down there. Plaza is good, but my favorite place downtown is Golden Gate. Kind of a small joint, out of the way, but they are really friendly down there and plus you can get a $.99 shrimp cocktail to hold you over until dinner. Fitzgeralds is another place I recommend. They had some good odds on blackjack when I went there in Decemeber, and pretty low table limits. Loose slots? Id try Slots-o-Fun near the Circus Circus, or Harrah's. Or if you want to make the long trek up the strip, try out Stratosphere for loose slots as well. Good luck.
I highly suggest reading this forum: http://www.lasvegastalk.com/ You can find some more good info there. There are some hardcore Vegas folks on that bbs.
If this is true: "Plaza downtown is generally considered to have some of the best rules in town on Blackjack. Double Deck Dealer stands on ALL 17s Double on Anything Can resplit Aces up to four times" These are highly favorable rules for the player, especially in double deck, assuming it's not 6:5 on BJ. Also, the 4 Queens has this really fun game called 'Blackjack Switch'. You get two blackjack hands, and have the option of switching the top card of each hand with the other hand's top card, in order to make the best blackjack hand. The only catch is blackjack pays 1:1, and if the dealer gets 22, it is a 'push' automatically. Interestingly, www.wizardofodds.com says this game isn't really that bad for the player, using best strategy. Last time I was downtown I had a lot of fun with this game. If you are at the strip, and are more of a 'high roller', the Bellagio has the best BJ rules, especially if you are counting cards. For $5/10 tables though and cheap food, downtown is the place to be.
Pretty sure every casino I went to on the strip had $10 tables, and they were usually the most popular. Only a few had the $5 variety, but everyone has the $10, even the swankier casinos like Bellagio. And the newer casinos all seemed to have the machine shufflers.
