At a gun range, where there are rules specifying how people should handle their real guns. He's in a WalMart casually carrying around a pellet gun he found in some aisle while on the phone with his mother. I said he pointed the gun at the ground the entire time the two children were in the area. I provided the exact time in which this occurred. The caller blatantly lied in order to make this man appear menacing. Take the time to review the footage then get back to me. I will repeat. He didn't point the gun directly at anyone in that video clip. It's obvious based on the clip he wasn't trying to threaten anyone. The caller was scared? Really? Was there even a hint of fear in his voice? Were the other patrons in the area even slightly alarmed? Short answer: Nope. He was lying. Completely. The entirety of that call is played on the clip beginning a few minutes in so that WE could see EXACTLY what the caller saw in advance and as everything unfolded. Although the police didn't provide any kind of adequate warning, the caller induced the panic with his bull****. Enough with the bull**** already. There's no malicious intent by the man on the phone. There was no warning. It's *all* on video. It wasn't even illegal for him to be carrying a real gun (if it was real). Ohio is an open carry state.
This country is so ****ed up. All on the news here in Texas there have been stories of people carrying real guns out in public, to Lubys, Target, on the sidewalk protesting, etc., and no shots fired. Yet this guy is just holding a bb gun and cops come in blazing because of one 911 caller who obviously lied. Why did they come in like that and not even communicate with Walmart? Why didn't they tell him to put the gun down? Oh yeah I forgot, shoot first, ask questions later, and we are cops so we will get off the hook without charges.
The pellet gun was out of the box and on a shelf in case anyone is wondering why it was outside of it's packaging. He literally picked it up that way. Also, the caller we listened to has since *retracted his story*. Why? Because everyone can see his bull****. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...s-officers-walmart-shopper-shooting/16159873/
The caller was not bull****ting anyone? Then why did he come back and change his story after the shooting. There was nothing threatening in the video that Crawford did. Open your eyes.
I'm thinking the police actions have more to do with the paranoia around mass shootings than anything else. I really have a hard time believing that if police were responding to a call about a guy walking around Walmart with a gun pointing it around children, that the police would first check his race before pulling the trigger.
Safe gun handling doesn't just apply to a gun range. It applies everywhere. I thought that was obvious. He demonstrated extremely unsafe gun handling. The guy SHOULD have called 911. The cops should obviously not have shot him. Look how the open carry guys, or soldiers carry a rifle. They don't randomly point it, or play with it like this guy did. They walk around with it shouldered and don't jack with it. Witnesses stories change or are false more often than not. You have a long way to go to show malicious intent. What was his motive, to get a guy shot? That is ludicrous.
Lol the caller said he was loading the gun and pointing it at people looking ready to shoot. He made it seems like he was terrorizing part of the store where he was at and the media went along with it and painted Crawford as a lunatic.
And they say games and movies are too violent ... at least they have the standard "put the gun down and come out with your hands up" line. 30 seconds ago, John Crawford's biggest problem in life was choosing between Meow Mix and Fancy Feast.
How do you know they didn't? http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/24/us/ohio-walmart-death/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 "According to police, when officers arrived, Crawford did not comply with their commands to drop his weapon." Of course they could be lying or exaggerating how much warning they gave. We don't know.

Interesting. Walmart should have a camera capturing that part of the event somewhere. From the video in this thread, it seemed like John Crawford had no clue he was being addressed.
Witness? The hell are you talking about. This guy called 911 claiming something was happening when he clearly was not doing those things. This is not like he witnessed a crime and then later testified, then testified again some time after with some change in his story. He called the police claiming something was happening when nothing was. As for motive, who the hell knows. Maybe he wanted to do a prank on somebody, or maybe he doesn't like Black people. You should really watch the security footage before commenting because you wouldn't be making these ridiculous claims.
I'm leaning towards the police giving no warning to Crawford. By the video, he did not react to any commands, and as soon as the cops turned the corner, he was immediately shot. It didn't seem like there was any second to yell "drop the weapon". Also, by the 911 call, you can hear gunshots and screams in the background. I would think you'd faintly hear a shout or command from the police to drop his weapon. Unless there's any other audio to support the police giving him commands, my opinion is that they gave him no warning.
I have watched it. What claims are ridiculous? Are you saying he was handling the gun in a safe manner? ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. FAIL ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. FAIL ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use. FAIL
Can you show me where the guy pointed the gun at anyone, including children, like the 911 caller said? Can you show me where in the security footage that Crawford was acting in a threatening way and show me anyone that looked alarmed? Also, was it even a real gun?
Was he handling the gun in a safe manner? I listed the three rules of gun safety. Apply those and answer. It isn't hard, you just don't like the answer.
